I just stare at her in misbelieve. I shake my head “don’t try and make me feel better about myself by lying saying I’m a star. I haven’t even been on a piano in years,” I fling my arms up from my range to calm me down. She just stands there watching me. “Have you really listened to yourself sing or play the piano?”

“No. Why would I want to do that?”

“My dear, you have talent and it’s about time you have shown the world what you can do.”

“I don’t think so!” I protest. How can she say something like that?

“You really don’t know do you?” I shake my head at her. I wish she hurries up and gets this over with. She motions me to follow her and we end up going in her office. She login to the computer and clicks something, “this will allow you to hear what you sound like,” she smiles up at me. “I had to have the camera put in last year because someone kept breaking in.,” she says sleepily. She clicks play and I go so still like a statue as I listen to myself sing and play the piano. When it finished Miss Winter said “I was hoping to talk to Miss Pierce about the school play for you to play the piano and not acted in the play,” I smirk. I am so happy I don’t have to be in the play, “well that is if it is OK with you first?”

“Yes!” I beam, “oh I would love to do that, thank you. It’s an honour to play the piano in the play.”

“Good and then the students will be able to hear how good you are,” that wipes the smile off my face. She gets up to leave. “Wait,” I call out to her. She turns around, “what do you mean?”

“You will sit in front of the stage and play the piano but people can still hear you.”

“I changed my mind I don’t want to play the piano now.”

“Don’t be silly,” she smiles a friendly smile, “look I will go and ask Miss Pierce want she thinks first then we will talk about it. So for now you can wait her, if you go into that room behind you then you can make yourself at home and have a hot drink. I shouldn’t be long,” and with that she sweeps out the door. I just stand there watching the place where Miss Winter left. This can’t be happening. I jump out my skin from the sound of the bell. I open the light wooden door into a brightly sun light room. Right away the room feels homely and the smell of lavender relaxes me. “Well it can’t be that bad can it?” I ask out loud as I walk into the room. I place my bag next to the light blue sofa that is opposite a small kitchen. I walk over and make myself a coffee. With a sigh I skin into the warm comfy sofa. “I could just fall asleep here”. I close my eyes and with a sigh I really relax. My phone vibrates in my pocket and I jump nearly spilling the coffee that is still in my hand. “Shit!” hot coffee dribbles down my hand so I swap hands on the mug and I shake my hand in the air so the coffee flies off. I reach into my pocket for my phone to find I have a text from Lexi, where are you!? Even your Jake lad has asked the teacher where you are and the teacher doesn’t no! With a sigh I text back, I’m with Miss Winters and I don’t think I will be able to get back this lesson AND Jake is not my Jake! I click send and relaxed back into the sofa. My phone signals that Lexi has texted me back. I opened it up so you’re saying that you don’t called dibs anymore? Mmm. I grit my teeth and text back I am NOT saying I’m not calling dibs anymore but he does not belong to me! Lexi texted me straight back I no you like like him ;) anyway can’t text the teacher will eat me. C ya l8er XX. I shake my head and put my phone back in my pocket. Miss Winters arrived as I just drained my coffee, “Miss Pierce agrees that you should play on the piano in the show. I just want you to think about it don’t make your mind up right away. Miss Pierce is going to get the music sheets ready so you can practice it later. In the meantime you can just sit here and drink with me,” she smiles warmly at my.
