Chapter Fifteen

Jennifer's Pov

I started the day like I always do
I hop in the Shower then brush my teeth. Fix my head of huge natural curls. Answer my good morning text from Charles then make some coffee imported from Kenya. Get dressed today I wore tight high waisted leather pants with a long black thin Cardigan with a bold chunky gold necklace and matching Bracelet redbottom high heels & a Golden clutch in my right hand After getting dressed it's off to the headquarters. I'm always prompted I'm there by 10:00am , 10:03am the latest.
Regardless of me being only 22 I had to grow up fast , learn how to be independent and quick on my feet. My dad was one of the Top 5 Hunters so I had to be perfect or pretty close to it no Matter what. I was trained my whole life how to Fight corrupts even though I was one myself. I found out really young that had powers I was so quick to learn it was like my talent I could watch anyone do something then get it perfectly right the first time I tried to do it or after Failing at it once it was impossible for me to fail at it again. My dad called it the copy cat skill. I also found out I could heal extremely fast after falling from a tree my first time camping. I broke my arm and told my mother and Father only 6 minutes later for it to be back to normal.
My father taught me no matter what to always get the job done.
He never said it but I could see in his eyes that he didn't like his only daughter being a Corrupt seeing in how his lifes work was to kill them. But instead he turned it into a strength and started using and training basically brainwashing other corrupts to fight along Side humans to kill other corrupts he said we fight monsters with monsters.
He told me once always work smart and hard never just one without the other To work smart was to only work using the mind but to work hard was only to use the body and not think things through. So I stood by his saying and always stayed thinking and working. I remember when he brought me to the headquarters to train and oh boy did he kick his little girls ass. And he kept doing it until I fought back using mind and body.
Shaping me into the perfect soldier. I shook myself from my train of thoughts to only realize that the whole time I was mindlessly driving and I had reached the Headquarters.
The headquarters was hidden under a huge Warehouse . I parked where I always do on the Right side of the warehouse.
I got out of my car and walked to the huge doors. Only for one of the headquarter workers to greet me slowly pushing open the huge door.
" Good morning Miss Brookes , you're early today "

" Morning" I said looking at the time on my phone it was 9:58am
" I am early I guess that means today's gonna be a good day" I said smiling at the man named Robert who greeted me every day at the door every morning.

" I would hope so I heard your birthday is tomorrow" Robert said.

I tilted my head slightly smiling " yes yes indeed it is , Alright I have to go Robert thank you "
I said smiling nodding as I walked off towards the counseled elevator under a flight if stairs.
I walked up to the elevator putting in the code to get to the headquarters. I got on , looked at my iPhone six plus to see a message from Charles saying 'have a good day at work babe'

' Thanks I hope you have a great day to babe '

Slipping my huge phone in my clutch I stepped off the elevator into headquarters.
As I walked through I had many greetings " Good morning miss Brookes , hello miss Brookes how are you today miss Brookes " said everyone who had seen me. I finally got to my office which used to be my fathers before he passed away in a plane crash caused by a corrupt.

I sat down and sighed at the papers that laid on my desk.
A voice soon came into my office
" So who are you sending out next" it was max He was a short guy with tan skin curly hair.

" No one we can leave them alone for today " I replied
" but what I can do is send you to get me some water then come with me to train" I said standing up heading out of my office.
