"That sounds incredibly stupid. No, I'm not going to dance to some song for the entire school to see. Look, we'll just come up with something later."
Jessica nodded into the phone and flipped open her textbook. She stared at the math problems for a moment before closing the book. Math could wait.
"Okay, fine. I'll see you tomorrow then."
She closed her phone and threw it over her shoulder, onto her bed. Her lamp's light casted elongated shadows on her wall and one in particular stood out from the standard outlines of her chair and desk.
"You're here kind of early."
"My brother woke me up. I had nothing else to do."
To look more productive than she was, Jessica sat down at her desk and pulled out a sheet of paper from her notebook.
"You really know how to make a girl feel special."
She heard the bed creak as she tapped a pencil against the book, her attention far from the numbers in front of her.
"Do you need some help?"
The breath on her neck was cold and it made her hairs stand.
"I'm not sure, what do you know about trigonometric functions?"
The laugh she received tickled her even further.
"Just that they're extremely boring." A finger traced the side of her neck down to her collarbone. "You're not honestly going to make me wait, are you?"
"What kind of excuse am I supposed to use this time?"
Her hair lifted against the short breeze as the chair swiveled around in one swift motion. The grin before her was carnal.
"Tell them you were feeling a little...lightheaded."
She had seen the fangs countless of times before, she even knew the prickly sensation they brought when they broke her skin but Jessica's heart always raced at the sight of them.
"No, Tiffany," she stood up and walked to the corner of her room in an attempt to cool down. "It's going to leave another mark and the last one just healed a few days ago."
Behind her it was silent but from the shadows she could see movement.
"I haven't fed in a month, Jessica. I agreed not to feed on anyone else but if you can't keep to your bargain-"
"My neck isn't the only place to get blood, you know."
She moved to the bed and sat down. She was nervous, her frenetic motions and shaky voice proved it. It didn't help any that Tiffany most likely could sense it also.
"What are you suggesting then?"
Jessica stuttered, she couldn't help it, "My femoral vein."
Tiffany's grin reappeared, wider than before, her incisors' curve matching the one on her lips.
Jessica held her hands by her sides as Tiffany moved closer, languid and relaxed in her steps. She strained to keep her eyes on the wall and remain unaffected but Tiffany's hands were cold and Jessica's legs were bare.
"I always feel a little more human when I touch you," Tiffany's hands glided up and down her thighs and Jessica almost convulsed. "You're always so unbelievably hot."
Her breath hitched when Tiffany's face suddenly appeared in front of her and the girl's dark eyes stared back into hers. She started crawling backwards on the bed as Tiffany pushed into her until she was lying down.
"I think we should take these off to make this a little easier," Tiffany said, clutching the ends of Jessica's shorts. Jessica nodded and lifted herself off the bed enough for Tiffany to slide them down.
Tiffany pressed her lips to Jessica's shin and then at her mid-thigh, "I'm really beginning to like this new option."
Jessica screwed her eyes shut and kept reminding herself to breathe. But it was hard and when Tiffany pressed her cheek against Jessica's pelvic bone, her leg twitched in response. She could feel Tiffany smile.
"I can hear the blood in your veins. It's humming," Tiffany whispered against Jessica's skin.
"Try not to get blood on the sheets."
Once Tiffany began kissing her leg, running the flat of her tongue along the curve of Jessica's hip, Jessica turned her head and buried it in the pillow. She knew what kissing meant and she knew that she would let out a choked cry or a scream-either way, it was going to be loud.
The first mouthful of blood was always the hardest. The bite coupled with the loss of blood was enough to send protesting shocks throughout her body. Tiffany had to hold Jessica's leg down as her back arched off the bed to prevent any tear to the blood vessel.
One pint was gone in a matter of minutes and Jessica only felt pain when Tiffany sucked too hard. Her eyes got droopy and she felt like she was floating after two pints.
Her heartbeats were dangerously lazy by the time Tiffany stopped. Warmth flooded her and her head lolled into the soft pillow.
"Hey now, no sleeping."
"I think-" her mouth was unusually dry and it was hard to speak, "-I think you overdid it a little this time."
"Sorry. I guess I was hungrier than I expected."
Tiffany started kissing her neck (for once her lips are hot), raking her fingernails down Jessica's arm. It kept her stimulated and awake but just as Jessica's heart began to steady, Tiffany abruptly halted.
"Someone's here."
