#Bucky Barnes X Reader

A/N: The Avengers get creative when it comes to dress up parties, while Bucky and the reader get super cute:)

It was Halloween and of course, Tony had planned a dress up party at his place. You had been pondering what on earth you should dress up as, because this had certainly become a secret competition between all the Avengers.

Natasha, being the good friend that she was, suggested, "Aren't you worriedly obsessed with The Great Gatsby?" The woman smirked as she saw the idea dawned on you.

"That's a brilliant idea, Nat!" you squealed and pulled the Black Widow into a tight hug. Your best friend's eyes glinted mischievously and you frowned. "What about you?"

She made a face playfully and leaned back in her seat, crossing her arms in thoughts. "Now, that's a secret. You'll see." Chuckling, you didn't press her. You knew that if Natasha didn't want to spill the beans, you could never get a single word out of her.

And that was the story of how you had arrived at the top floor of Stark Tower in a glamour silky dress. The elegant piece hung effortlessly on you, embracing your curve at the waist slightly. Little beads and laces accompanied the fabrics, making your figure stood out in the lovely lights. Your hair was curled and set nicely, giving you the perfect Gatsby period style. You had your favourite red lipsticks on, and lastly, to pull off the 1920′s look, you finished with a glittering head wrap. It sat perfectly upon your hair while little feather decorated the crystal pieces.

You stepped out of the elevator excitedly. With your gloved hands, you held onto your clutch bag and examined the crowds before you. As per usual, the floor was packed with people and music. The chatter and laughs filled in the air as you moved further down the floor. People threw gazes in your way, some smiled and nodded approvingly while the others were tempted to come up to you. You smiled in spite of your costume and found Natasha pretty soon.

You recognised the woman by her wild red hair. Natasha had it in a tight bun, and she was wearing a somewhat expensive looking suit. "Nat?" You called out uncertainly, hoping you were asking for the right person. The woman turned and you shrieked.

Natasha had drawn a Tony Stark-style moustache around her mouth. Her full lips curved into a smirk when she caught glimpse of your costume. "You look amazing, Y/N!" she beamed and twirled to show you hers. "What do you think?"

Unable to hold back your laughter, you giggled until you were dangerously close to ruining your makeup with your tears. "Has Tony seen you yet?"

Natasha grinned and winked at a walking banana next to you two. "Nope. But I'm about to go on stage and do the welcoming speech that Tony's supposed to be doing."

You laughed and surveyed the room with her. To your horror, you spotted a figure in red and blue. "Please tell me that's not Peter dressing up as himself," you murmured and Natasha chuckled.

"Yup, that's Parker."

You frowned when you saw another figure in exactly the same costume next to Peter. "Who's the other Spider Man?"

"That's Wade," when the Black Widow caught your confused expression, she explained, "He goes by the name Deadpool-" Just before the woman could finish, a shadow zoomed right past you.

"Pietro!" You turn to see Wanda coming in your way, her scowl directing at the gust that breezed past you and Natasha. "You're being annoying," she growled and halted to a stop when she saw you. "Oh, Y/N! You look beautiful!"

You grinned with flushed cheeks, and gradually, you took in Wanda's costume, just as Pietro popped out of nowhere next to his twin sister. "You guys," you gaped and bursted into fits of laughter, "This is painfully accurate!"

The twins had dressed up as Dash and Violet from the Incredibles. "Tony has suggested us to check out the movie," Wanda started but Pietro, being his impatient self, finished for his sister.

"And we loved it!"

Natasha smoothed her suit and remarked proudly, "You're very welcome, peasants-"

"Friends!" All of you snapped towards the source of the booming voice. Sure enough, Thor was making his way through the crowd while leaving gawking gaze on his way. He had on a white rob and a golden crown with golden leaves sat impeccably upon his blond hair. Quite a few woman blinked admirably after the God.

You rolled your eyes at him openly, "Of course, you're going to arrive as a God. Why am I not surprised?" Thor barked a couple of laughter before raising his Mjolnir towards the ceiling. Two lamely cut outs in the shape of a lighting bolt were stuck on either side of Thor's mighty hammer.

"Jane's told me to dress up as the God of Gods." Thor grinned at the ceiling challengingly and his hand tightened on the Mjolnir. Without any warning, thunder rolled outside of Stark Tower and lightening strike. Screams filled the room momentarily and the God simply smiled on. You sighed while the twins glanced up at Thor with interest. "Have you all seen the Archer? We have a bet upon whichever one of us will dress the best. I think I have possibly just won the competition."

Speaking of the devil, Clint in his white robe as well, approached the group. A little gold loop bounced above his head while he held a bow that was covered in feathers. "Hello, I'm Cupid," Clint introduced himself and was soon interrupted by Bruce, who was covered in green paint and had a turtle shell patterned rucksack on. He smiled when he saw us, and the scientist tugged on his orange face mask that only covered the area around his eyes. "Let me guess," Clint laughed, "Turtle ninja?"

All of you had a great laugh. You were enjoying your moment much when Natasha nudged you quietly. Gesturing to the side, Natasha smiled and you followed her gaze. Stepping out of the elevator was Steve, in his Uncle Sam Costume (no surprise there), then it was Sam Wilson, who was rocking a Captain America outfit (probably the real one). Last but not least, Bucky walked into the room with them, and your jaw dropped.

You stared as the three stood at the edge of the party. You could barely tear your eyes away from Bucky. The Winter Soldier had his hair combed back in a small ponytail, and he wore a slim cut cream suit, a vest, a black tie and a pair of black trousers. Next to you, Natasha whispered happily, "Go on. Your Gatsby is waiting."

You were thinking of straggling your best friend or maybe thanking her for eternity. But somehow, Bucky glanced in your way by chance, and his eyes widened. Uncle Sam and Captain America, no wait. Captain America and Sam noticed the surprised Bucky and caught glimpse of you guys as well. Sam and Steve grinned while Bucky's eyes focused on you.

You blushed and left the others. Thankfully, Sam and Steve had gone up to meet the others, leaving only you and Bucky, Gatsby and Daisy.

Blinking, Bucky tried a nervous smile. He glanced down at you once you were close enough and greeted, "You look gorgeous, doll."

You flushed furiously and thought your heart would leap out of your throat in any minute. "You don't look so bad yourself as well, Sarge." You peered over your shoulder uneasily and found Natasha watching you two with great anticipation. Chuckling, Bucky seemed more at ease.

"Oh no, I'm not a sarge. Let me formally introduce myself. The name is Gatsby."

You giggled and shrugged. "Hello, Gatsby. I'm Daisy." Your face was on fire when Bucky reached for your hand and brushed his lips upon your hand lightly. It didn't escape you that he was also wearing Gatsby's ring on his little finger Suddenly, the pulsing pop song from a moment ago was switched to a quick, jazz swing. Both you and Bucky looked towards the small stage and saw Natasha, in her Tony Stark costume, waving at your two enthusiastically in front of the music player. Chuckling, Bucky pulled you in so you two were close. Placing a hand on your waist gently, you smiled at the assassin, who had a boyish grin stretching at his lips.

In the background, you could faintly hear Tony complaining about Natasha. But right now, you didn't really care. As you two danced to the song, Bucky twirled you around, earning a hearty laugh from you. "Oh Daisy," Bucky's voice was quiet but you caught it with your every breath. "I've been waiting for you all my life."
