"I'm so happy the NEWTS are over," Meghan cried out, twirling around the school garden. "That was worse than every exam I've ever taken in my life."
"I know, I hope I got an O in most of them." I laughed as Meghan started imitating Snape, who was our Potions professor. He was horrible, downright horrible, to all houses except for Slytherin.
"Well, at least it's almost over. Next year would be our last." I smiled.
"I know, how exciting!" Meghan pulled me up from where I was sitting and twirled me around.
We were so giddy and happy. Hours and hours spent in the library studying and testing each other has finally done us well. "You're crazy." I laughed, getting a little light-headed after all the circles we've made in the air.
"Oh, I know. That's why Tom loves me." She smiled deviously.
"I hope Oliver makes it out alive. I know Charms is especially tricky, ever since they found out we had to make up for it since the loss of DA."
Meghan shrugged. "At least we're all licensed to apparate now. That's what I'm sure glad of. I almost thought I was going to fail."
"Now I can try and apparate to Brighton, where you and Tom live." I smiled.
"Or you can just go on broom or Muggle train instead, you risk-taker. You don't even know what my house looks like!" She laughed.
"Right. I can go do that. It's just easier to sneak out of the house that way."
Meghan sighed and sat down on the grass beside me. "Are your relatives still treating you that way?"
I shook my head. "My aunt and one of my cousins are starting to warm up to me. My uncle, on the other hand, and five of the other kids still don't like the idea of having a witch in the family.
"They'll get used to it eventually." Meghan smiled.
"Thanks, Meg." I said, meaning it.
She probably heard the authenticity in my voice and hugged me.
"I'll miss you over the summer." She said.
"Sorry to break the love fest, girls," A voice interrupted. "But I believe we do have a nice Butterbeer session at Hogsmeade in five minutes with the house."
Oliver grinned, which made me grin at him back. He's been having a difficult time studying for the NEWTS, not to mention he's failed the first Apparition test.
"Let's get going then." I suggested.
Oliver put his arm around me, sending tingles down my spine. It felt right, and I was glad.
"You're visiting London, right?" I asked.
"I've told you for the hundredth time, Avery. Yes, and I promise I'll be visiting you." Oliver rolled his eyes.
I smiled. "Just making sure."
And there we were, walking off to Hogsmeade in bittersweet knowledge mixed with anticipation for our final year at Hogwarts. I was personally nervous to bits but I have both Meghan, Oliver and the others by my side. It was all I could hope for, and I was happy.
