Mirrored Image Magic

Erika's P.O.V

I ran. Something told me to get away from Natsu, and the guild. My body just started to move on its own. By the time I realized it, I was outside of Magnolia. My body felt heavy, and my mind was foggy. When I came to my senses, I didn't see Avery with me. What's going on here? I asked myself as I started to walk through the woods. It was so nostalgic walking. When I was little, I roamed through these same woods trying to look for Aela, my mother.

"Avery! Where are you?" I shouted out, my voice bouncing off the trees. I rubbed my arms to warm them up. The sun was setting and the temperature was dropping rapidly. "Where the hell am I?" I questioned out loud.

"You're in the Eastern Mountain range. They're the mountains that act as the border between the countries Bosco and Seven." I jumped at the sound of a demonic voice. I turned around, and found no one. "What's the matter? Can't find your way back to that rat-hole town? To that a-cursive guild that you know?! " My hands broke out in crimson fire; blood dripping off of them with each slash I did; trying to find the person with that voice.

"Hiding is a cowards way of dying! Come out and show yourself!" I shouted out into the endless dark. I felt something tap me on the shoulder; I spun around to find a figure...it looked like Gray, but wasn't. "Who-" I shook my head, "what are you?!" I questioned, a little fear coming up into my voice. I stepped back a little.

"You'll find out sooner or later." In seconds I was pinned against a tree, and the creatures face was near mine. I squirmed to try and get free, but there was no use in doing so. His hand gripped my neck tightly, and began to choke me. "Now, listen. There is a certain group of people that I want to kill. And I am to believe that you have a special connection with this certain group." I opened my mouth to ask a question, but all that came out was a struggle. It felt like he was going to crush my neck. I began to get tunnel vision from the lack of oxygen. "Hey! Are you listening to me?" He asked, releasing my neck. I dropped to the ground; coughing and hacking, I spit up blood that left a bitter taste of Iron in my mouth.

"What group......are you......talking about?" my hoarse voice came out in a failed attempt at talking. I tried to stand, but was suddenly pushed to the ground with immense force. It felt like the gravity around me had increased.

"Oh, I never knew I could do this! What a surprise!" He spoke with sarcasm in his voce. "I'm talking about your older Brother, Gray Fullbuster; your little crush, Natsu Dragneel; the girl I attacked, Lucy Heartfilia; and most importantly, Titania!"

"Wait! You're the one that attacked Lucy?! You bastard, I'll kill you!"

"Go ahead and try!" The gravity increased, and I screamed out in pain. After 15 minutes of pressure and pain, I passed out. The next time I woke up, I saw Natsu, and Happy. I wanted to scream and tell them that it's a trap, but I had no control over my body. Natsu was beaten pretty badly, and hung up like me. I forced my mouth to open, and out came a very tired and exhausted 'Run Away!' The thing that looked like my brother turned his head towards me and shouted. "How are you able to speak?!" That gave Happy enough time to grab Natsu. Happy looked like he had enough energy to fly back to the guild.

Now I just hang here, in silence. Wanting to move. My arms and legs were spread out, and my muffler was no way to be found. Natsu, Gray, Lucy, Erza......don't come here...you're in danger! I tried my best to send out a signal to Warren with out passing out. Someone......save me... I passed out for a finally time.

Gray's P.O.V

"What...did...you...just say?" I was shocked to hear these words come out of the cat's mouth. I turned my head to Natsu, who was giving me a dirty look.

'Gray!' I heard Warren's voice calling me via telepathy.

"Warren? What is it?" I asked aloud. Natsu continued to give me a dirty look, thinking that I had done something so horrible to my own sister!

'Gray, I just got a message from Erika! I think you all should be at the guild in person to hear this.' Natsu, Lucy and Erza all chimed in.

'Ok? What's this all about?' Lucy.

'Got it! I'll be there shortly' Erza.

'Ok!' Natsu was the last one to reply before me.

In minutes, our team had formed around Warren. "Erika sent me a message via telepathy. The signal was weak, but I could understand what she was saying. I'll play it back for you guys."

'Natsu, Gray, Lucy, Erza......don't come here! You're in danger' Her voice was weak, and tired.

"Bastard! What does he intend to do with her!" Natsu slammed his fist into the table, making it crack down the middle.

"Calm down, Natsu! There's nothing we can do at the moment!" Erza placed her hand on his shoulder to attempt to calm the numb-skull down; didn't work. He brushed off her hand and tried to run out of the guild, only to find him in a world of pain. The Master hand enlarged his hand, and stretched his arm across the guild to smash Natsu flat against the floor.

"Natsu we need to think of a plan to help save Erika. We don't even know what we're up against!"

"We're dealing with Gray! He was the one that had Erika all stringed up like that!"

"You knit-wit! Me and Avery have been looking all over Magnolia for her. Even ask Gajeel, and Levy!" I called those two over, and asked them what I've been doing for the past week. The gave their testimonies and stated that I was 'going bat shit crazy' just trying to find Erika. Erza, Lucy, Happy and Natsu all looked at me, and I could tell that they believed me.

"So do you guys have any ideas what is happening?" I asked. The three of them bow their heads in unison. Natsu was making grunting sounds; signifying that he was thinking.

"What if it's a shape shifter?" Happy's squeaky voice broke the silence.

"Impossible. No creature like that has ever existed." Erza was blunt and simple.

"Then, what if it's shape shifting magic?" Happy rephrased his thought.

"The we're dealing with Mirajane!" Natsu had the wrong 'Eureka!' moment. You sad excuse for a mage! I thought, shaking my head.

"No, not exactly. It's not 'Take-Over' magic. It's a certain different, older magic type." Levy came and explained what she meant. The magic is known as Mirrored Image. It's a part the lost magics that no one was able to control. What it does is, if one were to intake the genetic DNA of one person, then they obtain not only the look of said person, but also the memories! If they were to take the genetic DNA of a mage, then they would obtain they're magic as well. What we didn't understand is that how he obtained this magic, and how he got a hold of my genetic DNA.

"So, we're basically facing a 'shape-shifter'? That's the way I understand it." I stood with my arm's folded, just replaying the moment in my head. "But, why did this guy chose me, of all people to torment everyone here in the guild, and in the town?"

"I don't know. Maybe you did something to the guy a while back? Maybe you didn't realize what you did?" Erza asked just out of pure curiosity.

"In any case, we need to know as much as we can about 'Mirrored Image' magic. That way we know what to do in case the person turns into one of us." Lucy went over to Levy for some references on where to look for books about this magic. at most we had luck at the great library. Hopefully we can save Erika soon. Just hold one, Erika. We're coming to save you.
