The Job Board and The Same Magic

"Hurry up, Avery! We need to get the job board before everyone else crowds around it!" I yelled back at her. She was always like this after school. Thank God this is the last year that I have to go to school for.

"I'm coming! I can only run so fast you know!" she replied back to me.

"You're a cat, you're supposed to be faster than me!" I stated with a smile on my face. I reached the job board and the same fliers were up there for last week. I was happy, there was one job that I desperately wanted to do. With being how short I am, I had a hard time looking for it. 

"What's the matter short stuff? Can't reach?" that voice was all to familiar to me.

"Oh, back from your job, Gajeel? How long was it this time? Three days? Four?" I asked sarcasticly. I always gave him crap on how long his jobs take. Hell, I give everyone crap on how long their job takes. You could say I'm the fastest person in Fairy Tail to get their job done. My longest job took me Three days; My shortest job was when I left in the morning and came back right in time for dinner.

"Haha! Actually, it was two and a-half days." He spoke, but I wasn't listening.

"There it is!" I shouted in excitment. I jumped to grab it, but I was no where close to grabbing it. "..." I turned to Gajeel and looked up at him. "Gajeel? Can you please grab that job for me?" I asked him nicely.

"Why is that?" He asked me, trying to get my to admit to my shortness. I looked away from him for a mear second and turned back to him. Opening my mouth, and saying this a small, quiet voice. 

"...because I'm too short to reach it..." I blushed a soft pink because of the embarrassing thing I just said.

"Huh? What was that? I couldn't hear you."

".......because I'm too short to reach it." I said it a little bit louder, blushing even harder than I was before. I never liked admitting that I'm extremely short. Gajeel laughed and grabbed the job that Avery and I were going to do. I yanked it out of his hands, and ran out of the front door of the guild. Gray was returning from the store to the guild to pick me up. I ran up to him with Avery flying to my highth.

"Sorry, Nii-san. We're have a job to do. We wont be back until late tonight." I explained what we were doing and ran off. 

"Try to be back by 3:00am, ok??"Gray yelled, turning back to see me off. I stuck my hand in the air, notifying that I understand.

                                        ----Time Jump----

".....ROAR!!!!!!" I screamed as a blast for dark red fire came from my mouth. The beam of fire was a direct hit on the monster, causing him to fall backwards in defeat. I took the Ember Stone that belonged to the Ash Family. "Avery, what time is it??" I asked my flying cat.

"It is about 12:30am." She responded back to me.

"That's good! And the trip back to Magnolia isn't that long." I put the Ember Stone in my back pack, and started to walk to the Ash Family's mansion, which stands about 20 minutes from Magnolia. 

We arrived at the mansion in no time to return the stone and claim our reward. But to our surprise, they gave us the Ember Stone as our reward. They said that the stone is worth about 70 times as much as they had originally offered on the help wanted flyer. We accepted their gift and headed home.

"We're home!!" I called throughout the house. All I heard was Gray's snores from the livingroom. I walked in to see him, one. Shirtless, two. Hanging upside down, and three. him creating a lake on the floor of his drool. Really?? I complained the myself. I didnt want to mess with him right now and walked upstairs to my room.

In the morning, I'll explain to my brother how I had gotten the Ember Stone, and to see when Levy, Erza, Mirajane, and Lucy will be back. For now, I didn't have a care in the world. But I should've been more careful.
