Chapter 2: Those Icy Blue Eyes

Autumn's POV (It will be in her point of view for the rest of the story :D)

I walked through the bustling cafeteria looking for Aria and Ryan. Where the hell are they!? I scanned the cafeteria trying to spot them, which was somewhat impossible in this school.

Everett Academy had over 50,000 children and most of them came from those rich backgrounds with parents, who were celebrated movie stars, legendary athletes, or renowned business owners. The kids were the most stuck-up, snobbiest, and downright arrogant people in the world. They never had to work hard in their entire life and all they did was party.

Only three students in the 50, 000 kids had gotten a scholarship to come to this school and they were Aria, Ryan, and me, of course.

I hated this school. We were stuck here for eternity. My parents, or should I say foster parents, were ready to do anything to get rid of me, so when they heard I got a full ride to this school because of my music skills, they quickly packed all my bags and dropped me off at the airport . So here I am, in the middle of England stuck in this screwed up school.

I don’t remember my real mother or father, but I’m sure they had a reason to leave me in the orphanage.

Either way, most families never kept me for long. In the beginning they were always enthusiastic about having me, until one random day they would ask me to leave, as if they were scared of me, but I never understood why. I had gone through 18 families, until finally a sophisticated little family adopted me.

My new “parents” both graduated from Harvard and were top engineers working for Apple. Seeing how my academic abilities were exceptional, they adopted me hoping I would make then proud.

When I moved in I met my step-sister, Paris, and it turned out we had so much in common that she became the only one I trusted. I felt comfortable, telling her all about my boy problems and venting about my entire life. She was my best friend.

However, the thing was that Paris didn’t care about academics, so she didn’t want to work hard to please “our” parents so I was stuck with all of their pressure. It was always like “Autumn, I checked your report card. How did you get a 98 in physics? How are you going to get into Harvard with grades like that?”

Soon enough, I burst.

I mean, Why did I have to listen to them? It was more like they were using me rather than acting like real parent.

I gave up on studying and started to go into music.

I learned every instrument known to man including the flute, trombone, trumpet, clarinet, violin, viola, piccolo,  cello, saxophone, guitar, and harp.  I learned how to sing through my choir teacher, Mrs. Arrante. She gave me private lessons seeing how enthusiastic I was and soon enough I was a professional.
