"Wanna play?" Said RuPERT.
The words rang in Braden's ears, and not just because this guy is talking extremely loud.
Braden now knew.
This was what that "cure" did.
It was actually a bit astonishing. Tim used something that they thought was the cure, but it turns out, it started the virus. Tim started the virus. Well, not the way he'd said. RuPERT had been completely fine until they all showed up to chow down on him. What was their problem, anyway? RuPERT was clearly not an evil cyber tyrant. And yet they implanted a virus into him. Wow. What a joke. It was if they were in some drama-thriller movie.
But none of that mattered now.
Braden's eyes darted around. He saw a
round, disk-like gadget resting next to the wall of the DCPD. It looked like some sort of hovering device. The only question was; how do you move it? How does it work? He needed a quick escape, but the chance of him falling off a disc and breaking his neck was scary. Braden didn't know. Then his train of thought was interrupted. "Are you even acknowledging my freaking existence?" Said RuPERT. "Oh, heck yes." Said Braden, as he darted for the disk-like
automobile. He picked it up, threw it on the ground, and stood on it. "Oh, you fool." Said RuPERT. Just then, RuPERT slammed his hand down where Braden was, right when that thing flew out of the way, saving him from being crushed. Braden didn't know how to control the altitude, until he realized it was activated by brain waves. He controlled the speed and altitude with his mind, and the direction with his feet.
Braden had just flown up thirty feet.
"Oh, Braden. I must admit, you are not a dumb one." Said RuPERT. Braden noticed a change in his tone. He knew that someone was now controlling RuPERT, and he knew exactly who. "Timothy." Said Braden, with a hint of hatred in his voice. "Oh, why hello, Braden. I see you've found the Police. What do you want them to do? Shoot their pathetic, little pistols, while I release my thousands of bullets? Might I remind you that I have rebuilt this cyborg. His steel is bullet proof." Said RuPERT, well said Tim controlling RuPERT. "Alright, Tim. You got me. What do you get out of this, though? What's your motive, huh?!" Braden yelled. RuPERT let out a chuckle. "World domination. While controlling the one in authority, I can do anything.
From today on out, you live in my age. From today on out, you live in the Cyber Age!" Said RuPERT, as he punched towards Braden, and Braden dodged it. "Ok, mister psycho-borg. You want to fight? Come on! Come at me!" Said Braden. RuPERT took his request, and started chasing the flying disk that was Braden around the entire city of Washington D.C.Kendall followed Braden to the door. What she saw was shocking. Braden talking to RuPERT. Egging him on. This was her chance.
She had to do something.
Kendall ran back to the waiting room. "Tristan! RuPERT's outside! He's gonna kill your brother! We have to get Jared!" Said Kendall. Tristan agreed, and they ran into the interrogation room. Brent sat in the chair, across from Jared. "Do you mind?" Asked Jared. "No. Do you?" Said Kendall. "Look. RuPERT's outside, and Braden's with him. If we don't do something, Braden's gonna die!" Said Tristan. Jared eyes widened. "RuPERT won't hurt Braden. What possible reasonable he have to touch him? Tristan and Kendall exchanged a look.
"We think that the flash-drive we implanted into RuPERT was the virus. We think that Timothy made him evil." Said Kendall. "This is possible. Actually, that makes great sense." Said Jared, his eyes darting around for a solution. "Follow me." Said Jared, darting out of the room. He lead the three of them down the hall, and into a room filled with security requirement. He had to scan his eyes, fingerprints, and say his name into the little microphone on the wall. "Welcome Officer Jared Hawking." Said the computer. He ran into the room with the three of them. Wow, were Kendall's exact thoughts. The room was filled with different types of guns. Everything from a BB gun to a bazooka. "Ok. This thing is not made of aluminum. You're gonna need these." Said Jared, handing each of them rocket launchers. "If you're specially trained like you say are, then you should be able to handle these." Said Jared. "Thanks." Said Kendall, Brent and Tristan consecutively. The three of them darted to the door. They saw Braden flying away, and RuPERT chasing him. "Chase them. The second RuPERT turns around, shoot him in the face. There's a possibility that Tim is controlling him through that flash-drive. If we get the flash drive, bye-bye Tim." Said Kendall. "What do we do in the mean time?" Asked Brent. "Well," Kendall started. "We wait."Braden was swerving left and right, trying to avoid RuPERT's forceful punches. "You can't win, Braden." Said RuPERT. "That's what you think!" Braden yelled back.
Yeah. RuPERT was right.
He couldn't win.
Braden decided that maybe Kendall had noticed them.
Maybe she was standing at the DCPD, waiting for them to come back.
No. That was ridicule. There wasn't a chance in the world they were waiting for him. Oh well. I'll just take him there anyway, thought Braden.
Braden went faster. RuPERT strived to keep up. And then, Braden emerged from the cluster of building that were Washington, D.C., and found the DCPD right smack in the middle.
And there they were. Standing there.
Aiming rocket launchers. Waiting for a clear shot. Braden knew what to do. He flew down to ground level, and RuPERT got only a few yards away from them. He was just about to stomp on them, when Kendall yelled, "Now!"
And her, Tristan, and Brent simultaneously fired their rocket launchers, hitting RuPERT in the face.
Creating a massive explosion on his head.
RuPERT fell to the ground, on the police department. Destroying an entire part of it. Braden hadn't even realize the sun had just went down. It had gotten dark already.
The four of them ran to the police department. "Oh, ho. You think I'll go like that, then, do you?" Said a voice coming from RuPERT's direction. Braden looked over there, to see a body-like figure emerge the from the rubble. And then Braden realized. That flash drive must have been a teleportation port, so that someone could teleport into RuPERT. Now it made sense, because Tim was standing only a few feet in front of him.
