⠀⠀⠀"Should I be angry or relieved, because I don't know what emotion I should be feeling right now." Brendan hissed sourly at Drew whom stood right next to him as they attended a meeting. For what reason, they didn't know, but one thing that Drew did know was the fact that he had dragged his friend into the unknown with ease. The male let out a breathy laugh, careful not to interrupt the men and woman on the stage as they spoke of things he, nor Brendan were interested in.
⠀⠀⠀"Happy, you should be happy because I am more than sure am!" Drew cackled, drawing small bits of attention to him, though not minding. When he saw the dejected look of the brunet, he went to smack his shoulders lightly. "Okay, I'm sorry that I dragged you in this, but, hey, think about it— we'll probably have lots of laughs. Not to mention, this is a better option than any other club you had in mind. Am I right, or am I right?"
⠀⠀⠀"You're wrong." Brendan replied blandly.
⠀⠀⠀"Don't be like that!"
⠀⠀⠀"Why shouldn't I? After all, I'm stuck here for the rest of the year in a Theatre Arts Club rather than the Gaming Club— the one we should've joined!"
⠀⠀⠀"You won't be saying that after a while."
⠀⠀⠀"Oh, really?" Brendan scoffed, rolling his eyes as a fake smile crept up upon his cheeks whilst sending Drew an irritated look. He didn't really want to be here at the moment, sitting on the floor while the manager and vice-manager spoke about their plans for the year and whatnot; things he could care less about. He was frustrated with himself, for he was gullible enough to trust his supposed friend to choose a club for the both of them. What part of him told him he'd be okay with whatever choice Drew chose, he didn't know— wouldn't know. It only got him into a bad mood, and Brendan went to cross his arms and turn away from the male. "I don't know what could possibly make me change my mind!"
⠀⠀⠀Drew harshly pressed a finger against his lips to hush him, childishly creating the shhh noise that Brendan despised so much. He grunted, feeling his blood beginning to boil in increasing rage, and he restrained himself from getting up and curling his fingers over the green-haired male's neck. He was inching closer into resulting of doing that, but once a high-pitched voice caught his attention, he was quick to glance up at the stage.
⠀⠀⠀A woman, quite slim and unusually upholding a wide smile strutted her way onto the front of the stage, rising her arm into the air in a sassy way. She held the microphone to her lips, took a steady inhale, and wasn't at faltered when her voice practically screeched through the room. "Ah, hello everyone! I'm Lisia, and I'm sooooo glad you all have joined our beautiful, luscious, fantastic club of fashion and acting and everything beauty!" Her voice echoed, and Brendan ducked down to press his palms roughly against his ears at the ear-bleeding sound. "Now, may we begin! Pick an acting partner, everyone! You'll be with them for the rest of the year! Females with males, only! Hehe!" Brendan mentally, and almost physically, cringed at her laugh, but not as much as the words that left her lips.
⠀⠀⠀The brunet looked over at Drew, eyes dilated and flickering with unimaginative fury. But said male only shrugged and sent him a smug smirk. "You heard the lady, females with males, only!" At that moment, Brendan could've really strangled the hell out of him if it weren't for the fact he had already dashed away to the nearest girl.
⠀⠀⠀Brendan sighed in exhaustion, scratching the back of his neck as he managed to take a look of his surroundings. He wasn't surprised to see most of the people taken. If it weren't for the light tap upon his shoulder and the slight call of greeting, he would've most likely fled the room and turn to the nearest club— anything to surpass this one, this club from hell. He craned his neck, amber gaze resting upon a small, petite brunette; her own sapphire irises casted downwards to her feet as she shuffled nervously, hair falling to her chin in a bow.
⠀⠀⠀Her cheeks were tinted in light blush, almost accustoming to her somewhat tan skin. She appeared to be more nervous than he was to find a so-called partner, and a rush of confidence built up amongst him. "H-hello, would you l-like to be partners? I mean, you don't have to say yes, but..." She mumbled quietly, jerking her thumb to the room filled of matched pairs.
⠀⠀⠀He would've said no, he would've, but he didn't. He didn't know what came over him, heart getting tight in his chest, lungs constricting as if he were suffocating, and ears beginning to burn at the sight of the female in front of him. Brendan wasn't going to lie, she was pretty damn adorable.
⠀⠀⠀"S-sure," He agreed.
⠀⠀⠀The brunette's eyes lit up in relief, and she sighed, sticking her hand out quickly. "I'm May, you?"
⠀⠀⠀Brendan smiled, interlocking their palms together with a brief shake. "Brendan." May grinned widely. She was quick to pull him along towards the stage, prepared to begin their first pair assignment with each other. Along the way, Brendan couldn't help but become flustered with their small contact, pressing his free palm against his inflamed cheek in hopes to conceal the obvious embarrassment, though no avail. All he could think about was the cute, petite female known as May.
