⠀⠀⠀"And that's a wrap!" Lisia called from below the stage, her clipboard loosely dangling off of her bended knees. She had her black pen flicking in between her index finger and thumb, a thought racing through her mind rapidly. "Everyone did fairly well for their first time on the stage, so I will call this a wrap ten minutes earlier than it's suppose to. Brendan, fabulous work, just try and add some more emotion to your movements. Iris, be louder— never thought I would say that. Serena, Misty, Dawn, please work on your own movements, they're stiff. Other than that, everyone is free to leave! Have a nice evening!"
⠀⠀⠀Brendan groaned as he fell on the stage, his spine hitting the wood with a melodramatic slam. Sweat drenched his forehead and lower neck, but he didn't attempt to wipe it away, afraid it would leave a sour stench on his clothing. He remained still, eyes shut and heavy. Footsteps could be heard from above him, and before he could even think of reacting, a cold substance ran down his forehead and caused him to screech. Brendan looked up, "What are you doing, Drew?"
⠀⠀⠀"It's time to go home, duh," Drew laughed.
⠀⠀⠀"Okay, just give me a second."
⠀⠀⠀"No, I'm telling you to get up now. I'm hungry. Cook for me."
⠀⠀⠀"Mom always cooks, you know that," Brendan sighed as he slowly rose up from where he was sprawled across the stage, reluctantly taking the ice pack from the green-haired male's clingy hands. "You're welcome to come for dinner, like always."
⠀⠀⠀"Aw, thanks, dude!"
⠀⠀⠀"But don't be surprised if it's sushi tonight."
⠀⠀⠀"Your mom's cooking is heaven, so I'm not going to complain either way."
⠀⠀⠀"Oh, Brendan-Boo!" May's over enthusiastic voice echoed throughout the Theatre Arts room. Brendan and Drew glanced over their shoulders to see the small brunette thoroughly dressed and sprinting towards them. She outstretched her arms widely before running into Brendan's torso, squeezing him once before hesitantly sending Drew a timid wave of her hand. She still looked a bit nervous from what happened before. "Where are you now, guys? If you guys don't have anywhere to go, let's go get some McDonalds."
⠀⠀⠀"No way, May!" Drew interjects normally as if the incident before didn't cross his mind or effect him in the slightest. "Brendan's mom is cooking tonight, and I can't miss it!"
⠀⠀⠀"Brendan's mom?" May questions.
⠀⠀⠀Brendan sighs, "My mom's cooking is heaven to some people, so whenever she cooks, it's like no one can miss it. Drew might not want to miss it. Maybe not tonight, May."
⠀⠀⠀"Hm," May ponders, her index finger tapping gently on her chin. "Hey, I heard that Lisia told us to practice together, so maybe we can do that tonight! Mind if I come over, too? I wouldn't want to miss any of Miss Birch's cooking. If Drew's mouth is watering, then it must be delicious!"
⠀⠀⠀Brendan could feel his ears and neck begin to heat up. May was just too cute for him. He could barely handle it. Smiling, he nods and presses the ice pack closer to his cheeks in hopes to smother and conceal the redness rushing through his veins, "Of course you can come, May."
⠀⠀⠀"Wonderful!" May squeals, clapping.
⠀⠀⠀Beside him, Brendan can feel Drew's intense and wry stare. He was really going to get it from Drew tonight. He could already feel his smirk and hear his unnecessary and embarrassing teasing.
