I found myself waking up to a strange noise. I tried to open my eyes but just when they opend for a mere second, they would fall close again. After a few times trying I decided to wait and hear what that sound could be.

My mind was running crazy right now. I knew I had heard that sound before but I couldn't place it.

Second after second passed and I still couldn't put my finger on it.

To say I felt strange would be an understatement. I mean, I had a hard time opening my eyes and my brain couldn't place a simple sound like that in the right category.

Why won't my eyes open up?

"Hey! Chloe. Wakey wakey little sis. You need to get up." I heard someone say.

Little sis? Wait! That's Matt! Where the hell am I?

"C'mon we know you're awake. We have no time for playing sleeping beauty." We? Who is we? Matt's not alone?

After trying and failing to respond, my brother finally got the idea that something wasn't right.

"Hey man, I think something's wrong with her." There it was. All the lightness in his voice gone and replaced with his brotherly-sorrow.

Suddenly there were sparks flying everywhere on my skin. I know this feeling but from where?

Wow that's just great! Another thing I can't place.

"Chloe, you need to wake up. We need to talk." I felt hot breath fanning against my cold skin. A chill ran down my spine, followed by the same sparks as before, this time coming from my cheek.

As if those sparks gave me new found energy, I could open my eyes. The first thing I saw were the beautiful eyes of my mate.

Yes, my eyes weren't the only thing energiezed by the sparks. It was as if my brain got a kick out of it. I suddenly knew what voices spoke and I could place the sound. It was two people pacing through the room.

Jayden smiled down at me but I could tell that he had a hard time. I tried to get up but my bones felt very heavy. Jayden saw that and helped me up. He leaned my back against the headboard of the bed I'm currently in, which I assumed to be Jaydens because of his scent everywhere.

Then I saw my brother. He looked even worse than Jayden. Baggy blue eyes and tousled blond hair. It looks like he ran his hands through them a lot lately. Also he looks like he hasn't eaten since days. Which could be right since we were on our own out in the forest.

"Hey little sis. Finally decided to join us?" It was meant as joke but I could tell that he just tried to cover something up.

My mouth felt dry, so the first thing I asked for was water.

After drinking the whole glass standing on the bedside table, I looked at Jayden and then at my brother. They were now seated right in front of me because they decided to sit down on the bed.

"What's wrong?" I asked no one in particular. I wanted some answers and I don't care from who.

Jayden decided to answer, while my brother still looks at me with this strange look in his eyes.

"Well sleepyhead. After you drove off to sleep on our way to the pack house, I kept walking until we were there. I thought you were just tired and I wanted to give you the much needed sleep. Turned out you needed a few days of sleep." He narrowed his eyebrows and looked deep in thought for a second.

"What do you mean by 'a few days'?"

This time Matt answered.

"For 3 days, to be exact. And I know why you were out this long."
