Chapter 7 - Harsh words

*lucy's pov*
(2 weeks later)

I knock on Natsu's door waiting patiently for him to open and when he didn't I remember he might still be sleeping. I pull out the spare key from under the carpet and slide it into the door opening it only to be greeted by a small kitten that strokes itself against my leg "hello there" I lift it up as it meows. It's fur grey but somehow it had a hint of blue in it. I close the door after me, seeing the small cat had a green collar with a name tag "Happy" i say smiling "you do seem like a happy fella" I put the small kitten down as it runs towards the kitchen. I pop my head into the bedroom seeing Natsu spread out over the bedsheets snoring. I walk up to the bed straddling him on the bed, I know he doesn't like when people wake him up but I still need to wake him. I grin slightly too myself as I got a idea, starting to kiss up his collarbones and up his neck leaving small marks on his smooth skin, small noises coming from him. So he does feel it, my hands pressed down onto his shoulders as my lips continuing leaving kisses. I huff lightly as he doesn't seem to react much at all now. He deepens the kiss lifting me up into his lap as I wrap my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist. I squeal as he rise from the bed still holding me as he walks out to the kitchen and putting me down on the counter "before we leave let me drink some tea, you want some?" He asks "no thank you" I giggle lightly as he start making tea in only his boxers. He never seemed like the person that would like tea..... "Stop staring" I snap out of my thoughts realizing I had been staring at his ass "it needs a good staring" I say getting off the counter "you always stare at mine" I say and I hear him chuckle "I'll let this one slide" he prepares the tea and I sit down on the bar stool holding the kitten in my lap "so where did you get happy from?" I ask and he glances over at me "I found him in the rain" he says and I nod "it's good that Natsu found you, isn't it? You will be very happy here" I say in a baby voice while petting him. I glance at Natsu seeing him smile "will you talk like that to our children?" He asks and my heart skips a beat, we were considered in a relationship? Kids ? There was a silence filling the room as I feel my cheeks heating up "you think I was serious Lucy?" He puts down the tea on the counter "I- I don't know" I mumble setting down the cat on the floor "w-were you?" I ask and he sips on his tea "I'm kind of both, serious but also not" he says and I look down at my hands "w-would you ever want k-kids?" I ask "yeah I would, I've always wanted a daughter named Nashi" I look up at him again, his gaze meeting mine. He really was a sweet person, the boyfriend's I've had never even thought about kids but Natsu he really wanted kids. He'd be such an amazing father unlike my own father...... I glance down again at my hands "is something wrong?" He asks and I shake my head, lying "no nothing" I say.

After getting ready we head over to my place, he wasn't so much for the whole cake idea but he agreed to help me. I was making it to celebrate my father's company for hitting the record for most sales this year. We start baking, Natsu wanting to eat everything that seemed good but regretted most of the things he ate. We started making the frosting and Natsu put some on my nose "you got some on you" he pulls me closer by my waist lifting my chin with his other hand before licking off the frosting from my nose and I giggle "you are so different from when I first met you" I say "is it a bad thing?" He asks and I shake my head "no" I say giving him a quick kiss on the lips. We continued our baking until we were finished and I lean back against the counter smiling "we are done!" I say clapping my hands together "Lucy!" A stern voice rings through my ears and I look to my side seeing my dad there with his eyebrows pushed together "what are you doing in the kitchen? You aren't supposed to be in such a filthy room that's why we have maidens for that" he says his voice bitter "father I-" "YOU SHOULD BE FOCUSING ON YOUR STUDIES NO EXCUSE GO BACK TO YOUR ROOM!" He yells "father please I-" "who is this man?" His eyes landed on Natsu that looked as angry as my father "he's a friend" I say knowing if my father found out we were more then friends he would yell more. Natsu looks at me with a confused look "you are a disgrace for this family that's why I have set up an arranged wedding" he says and my eyes widen, Natsu clicking his tongue "bastard" he mumbles "you will carry on our family with another family like ours" he says and I look down clenching my fists. I could never talk back to him "I-" Natsu cuts me off "YOU CANT DECIDE OVER HER LIFE LIKE THAT! SHE IS 18! SHE HAS HER OWN DREAMS HER OWN GOALS AND YOU ARENT GOING TO GET IN THE WAY OF THOSE DREAMS CAUSE I WILL HELP HER! ARRANGED MARRIAGE MY ASS SHE ISNT GETTING MARRIED TO ANYONE SHE DOESNT LOVE!" Natsu yells and I look over at him "Natsu...." "HOW DARE YOU FILTHY HER MIND WITH WHAT YOU BELIEVE! SHE HAS ROYAL BLOOD AND SHE IS GETTING MARRIED TO SOMEONE WITH A HIGHER RANK NOT TO SOME LOWLIFE LIKE YOURSELF!" My father spat at natsu "you bastard" Natsu clenches his fists and was about to walk up to him before I stopped him "Natsu don't" I whisper "I don't like your friend here Lucy, you shouldn't be friends with someone like him" my father walks off and Natsu hits his fist down on the counter making me jump "are you going to let him treat you like that?! Are you going to go through with the arranged marriage?!" He yells and I look down clutching my other arm "Natsu you don't understand my family.... We don't do what makes us happy but do what makes the company work if this is the only way for the company to continue I'll have to follow my fathers will" I mumble keeping my gaze away from his knowing that I would be greeted by a angry one "you really are foolish, then if you your arranged marriage goes through we can't be together can we?" The last part came out in a whisper "I guess we can't" I say and he walks past me "you should understand that no one owns you, not even your father" he says before the door slams shut. I never want to disappoint my father, sure he's not always been the best father but he does what is best for me and my future...... Even if it hurts people around me in the process.

For the next couple of days Natsu keeps his distance from me, he doesn't completely ignore me but he does what he feels protects him like building up the barriers.... Tearing them down again would be hard. I know he doesn't remember the confession he made to me which I will always keep close to me, it was a really rare thing hearing him say "love" so having that one word that most people around him haven't heard is kind of amazing. "Hey Natsu" I tug at his school uniform "what is it?" He asks turning to face me "I need to talk with you" I say tugging him into the girls changing room "are you gonna tell me how amazing this guy is and how disgustingly rich he is" he huffs and I grip the collar of his plain white shirt, tugging him down "of course not, I haven't met him" I say "then what is it you want" he says rather annoyed by how close I was "that night Natsu, when you were drunk you said you loved me" I say "I did not" he says like a five year old "I love you Natsu and I'll try fixing this between my dad and I" I say sternly "will you be able to do it on your own?" He cocks a eyebrow at me and I role my eyes. His usual self.... "Yes" I say "how can I trust you?" He asks "with this" I say pressing my lips against his and I feel his lips press harder against mine as the kiss depend. I feel my body being moved by him against the wall as he lifts me up by my thighs and I entangle my hands in his hair tugging slightly. His hands starting to move up my button up shirt. "What the hell" we look up seeing the water sprinkles had gone off, the sound of the fire alarm starting to ring through the building "we never get to have fun" he mumbles letting me down as we walk out following the other students out. I don't want mine and natsu's relationship to end..... I won't allow it if it means going against my father's will I'll do it. For him. For our future.....// sorry this is rather short 😅
