"He keeps ruining my day. Forcing me to wake up early just to leave me behind!"

The faux blond nodded, hand propping his head while his eyes kept looking at the woman who was now chirping nonstop about the event that happened to her during the day.

Today's topic is her second brother, Zain Aelister.

"And then he comes back after I changed my clothes and forced me to go out! I refused! But do you know what he does to me, your highness?"

Alberu shook his head, smiling. "What did he do?"

Camellia huffed, annoyance could be seen on her face. She is clearly still angry about what happened.
"He carried me on his shoulder and put me on the horse! I am going around the town barefoot!"

She huffed again, grabbing the tea and dunking it into her mouth in one gulp. Alberu dutifully poured her cup again.

"And now you are not talking to your brother, is it?"

"Humph. I am going to ignore him for a week. No, no, a month!"

Alberu's lips twitched as she aggressively munch onto the cookie.

"Hey, stop smiling. This is not funny." She narrowed her eyes at Alberu upon noticing his amused smile.

Alberu quickly cleared his throat, but his smile was still visible.
"Apologise."

He picked up the teacup to hide his smile. But he knew Camellia was now annoyed at him based on the huff she let out.

"I tell you so you would back me up. Not smiling at my misfortune."

Camellia pouted before lying in the coach and covering her face. Not wanting to look at Alberu anymore.

"Ehem, what Prince Zain did to you is unforgivable. He should have treated you much better, Princess Camellia."

With just the simple words from Alberu that bore the support on her side, the blond-haired princess looked at Alberu again.

"Yes! You get it! He is the worst!"
Still lying on the couch, she kicked away her shoes before crossing her arms.

Alberu side-eyed the discarded shoes before going back to Camellia. He no longer feels weird about this occurrence since it has been repeating many times now.

How long, you ask?

It has been nearly 3 months since she came back that night, asking permission to stay.

He was confused by her appearance. She said that because she is bored. So he let her be, thinking it is one time occurrence.

He is so wrong about it. Because she kept coming the next day. And the next. And the next. Until tonight.

Alberu did ask exactly why she kept coming here. Why not somewhere else?

She answered.
"Because here smells nice."

He looked so dumbfounded by what she said. Smell what exactly? He didn't understand and brushed it off as her trying to keep the real reason a secret from him.

At first, she was quiet. Then, she began rambling about everything. He was ignoring her at first because he was busy with his paperwork, then he began participating, giving insight and opinion.

And it turns into small talk. Well, mostly Camellia who talks a lot. There are so many things she tells him to the point of her deviant attitude of stealing from the royal kitchen.

And to the point she criticised the nobles at Roan after taking a peek at his paperwork and reading the contents.

"That one has a motive behind it, your highness. Better to check on where that noble is going to get the supplies."
