Camellia tilted her head.
"Secret?"
Alberu nodded.
"How did you figure out my identity?"
Ah! Camellia let out the sound of understanding, lips quirked upwards while eyeing the crown prince who raised an eyebrow at her sudden smile.
"I thought you wanted to ask something like my family's secret or something. Fuh."
Camellia wiped her invisible sweat on her forehead, showing a relieved expression on her face.
"I have read about Roan for a bit and I suppose they don't know the existence of Zero Magic."
Hm. A new term he never heard of. Alberu leaned back on the couch and motioned for Camellia to continue.
"If you'd entertain me with the explanation as to what is Zero Magic, I'd be delighted, Princess Camellia."
"Fufu, Zero Magic is not something that a mere mortal should know! This is a passed-down generational magic from the Aelister family. I can't tell you many things about it but I will give you something!"
Alberu could clearly see the excitement behind the rose quartz and the way her voice had raised slightly. He didn't interrupt but let her ramble on and on about this so-called generational magic.
"Ehem, to put it short, Zero Magic is a magic of enhancing and weakening. You know, it is not like a typical magic but something like... ancient power? Do you know ancient power, your highness?"
Camellia tilted her head.
"Indeed, I am well aware of ancient power."
Camellia beamed.
"Great! So this is Zero Magic just like ancient power despite we call it with the term 'magic'. So to say, Zero Magic allowed the user to increase their physical ability."
The youngest princess didn't stop one bit to drink and keep going with a sparkle in his eyes.
To summarise her explanation on Zero Magic is Zero Magic can enhance one's user senses such as sight, smell, hearing, touch, and taste. That is the first level.
The second level is enhancing the muscles, as in making the user be able to lift a weight easily, land a killing blow in an instant or move faster just by using their legs.
Lastly, the third level is enhancing other people's power. It could be used when assisting someone when they are healing or using a magic spell. Zero Magic could increase the frequency of healing and magic. In addition, the third level is also where the user can weaken anyone, be it physically or power-related.
What differ Zero Magic and usual magic is the use of mana. Zero Magic didn't manipulate or use mana, it is entirely an inner power that comes from the soul itself, like the ancient power.
"I have been enhancing my smell when looking at you and I smell dead mana on you, your highness. That narrows down a suspicion I have about you to some dark creatures. But I remember Father told me that Roan is now affiliated with dark elves, so it is just merely a guess from my part that you are also a dark elf considering how easily you accept them."
Camellia smiled and Alberu blinked.
Oh?
'She's just... guessing? Guessing?!' Alberu was in disbelief.
"What gives it away is the way you react! That's why I am convinced you are a dark elf! I am smart, aren't I?"
Alberu's lips turned into a straight line.
