Chloe Elizabeth Price was currently making her way down a really misty, dark dirt path. She's made it a few miles away from her home by now. Not bad, considering she'd snuck off in the early after noon and the sun was just recently setting. Still, it was pretty shitty she had to do this. But of course all the bad shit keeps happening to her, Huh? First her dad, the only person she ever felt really understood and cared for her completely, died in the battlefield, killed by some big time Orc warrior with some backup. Then her mom remarries not six months after William died. And not only did she remarry, she married a total fucking asshole! David Madsen. The tool was part of the local group of troops that tried to fend off the attacks in their shitsville of a town. In fact, he was the leader. But it was uncomprehendable to Chloe how someone so obviously unstable managed to get such a secure and big-time gig. After all, he did have PTSD from the previous town he had been protecting. The worgen won that fight and killed some of his friends. He's had major trust issues and paranoia ever since, and it shows. Whenever Chloe would walk into a room in the house without stomping loudly or somehow obviously announcing her presence, he would jump and his muscles would tighten ever so slightly. More than once she had to avoid a blow to the head. Step-prick would always apologize, but it meant very little to Chloe.
Out of all the hundreds of men in their town, her mother had to go and marry a psycho one with more issues than even she had. The thought made Chloe scoff bitterly to herself.
Oh yeah, she never went into detail over why she was on the run, so to speak. Well the thing of the matter is, thanks to her wonderful step-dick, she was now also one of those punk add werewolf-wannabes. Sometime in the last three days, David had been out patrolling the area. He ran into another young recently turned worgen, who had actually gone to school with Chloe. Her name was Kate Marsh. She was shy and kept more to herself, but Chloe would occasionally exchange words with her. Kate was a good chick. Chloe couldn't imagine her ever being a worgen. It just wasn't like her. But apparently anything can happen, a lesson that she had been learning in more ways than one these past few days.
David wanted to play hero and try and talk Kate down from her ledge, but of course it backfired. Kate lunged at him and dug her razor sharp canines into his bicep, leaving him with some nasty swelling and no doubt long lasting scars. David ended up killing Kate, and called back-up. The medics patched him up. They recommended he stay at the local shitty infirmary that was being run in this little cellar near the presscott's old property, but David refused. He thought the bite wasn't that bad, and compared to the others he'd seen, Chloe supposed it wasn't.
David ended up talking the healers into believing he'd be fine on his own and that he'd tell them as soon as anything freaky started to happen. So he came back home and was somewhat fine...for the first day. Then he started acting weird. Really weird. He was more jumpy and more prone to aggression, yelling and snapping for pretty much no reason at all.
He ended up getting into an argument with Chloe, Chloe being her usual self and telling him where he could stick his issues. And David's eyes started to turn bright yellow. Alarm bells started going off in Chloe's head by then and she even tried to backpedal (something she usually would never do otherwise) but it was too late. David wasn't able to be calmed in any way. He yelled his ass off, ramblings of a mad man that didn't make much sense at all to Chloe. Then he backhanded Chloe. Chloe was shocked and didn't know how to react, so she had brought her hand up to her face on instinct only to feel something unusually wet. She pulled her hand back to see it stained slightly with blood.
'What the fuck' had been the first thing to pop to Chloe's mind again. Then she noticed David's irraticle breathing, that almost...almost sounded like growling. Forcing her bright blue eyes to focus on him, she'd noticed his arms were way harrier than they usually were and he was practically snarling at her, revealing a deadly sharp set of choppers. He growled and lunged at Chloe again, but Chloe had luckily managed to dodge that time, and he had ran into the bookshelf that had been behind her, he turned around and tried to charge at her, but Chloe thought quick and grabbed the only object nearby, a copper candle-holder, and hit him smack in the face with it. Something that, she wasn't going to lie, she had been wanting to do for awhile, even before he went all "The Better to Eat You With My Dear" on her. He was slightly distracted, so Chloe delivered a final blow, a kick in the nuts, something that still affected him, freshly turned worgen or not.
