All was well in the kingdom of Phoenix Drop. The birds were singing, the sun was shining, and the kingdom was thriving.

Phoenix Drop's ruler, King Matthias ll, did all he could to make sure that life in the kingdom was perfect. He hired plenty of guards, built plenty of houses, and bought plenty of supplies for Phoenix Drop.

King Matthias had a daughter named Aphmau. Princess Aphmau was quite a character. She didn't like the life of royalty that much. She'd rather be out talking and goofing off rather than be living the life of a pampered, proper family. She was a little awkward and didn't have any friends, which caused her to live 18 years of her life in shadow and depression.

Her father thought it was for the best. She always got into trouble, so he made her stay in the castle to keep her out of it. There was no other way to keep an eye on her.

Aphmau's mother, Queen Rosa, was shot in the heart with a poison arrow when she was 6. Her father has had to raise her by himself ever since. He hasn't had enough time for her with all his royal duties he must carry out each day, so she doesn't really know what it's like to be around people that much.

Princess Aphmau has had a miserable, lonely life. But one day, all that changed...

Aphmau's POV

I opened my eyes to see milky dawn light filtering through ny purple curtains on my super sized window. I yawned, stretched, and went into the bathroom to take a shower.

Once I was done, I quickly got dressed in my favorite dress (the pic at the top) and headed downstairs for breakfast.

I sat down at the long table with everyone else and yawned. I've been pretty tired for a few days now.

"Happy birthday, Aphmau!" Everyone choruses and startles me awake. I completely forgot! Today is my 19th birthday!

"Thank you, everyone!" I said as I started serving food onto my plate.

After we ate, everyone gave me a gift. So far I got a new dress, a few books, a pair of new shoes, and an art easel with more paints.

My father's gift was last.

"Aphmau, are you ready?" He said while standing up

"Yes." I said and looked in his direction.

"I got you... a personal knight!" He says as a man in grey chain mail armor, white vest with a red cross over it, and a helm that covers up his face completely walks out.

"Hello, m'lady. I'm Garroth, your personal knight."
