Aphmau's POV
"Woah, really?!" I said with excitement filling my voice.
"Yes. Happy 19th birthday, m'lady." Garroth said.
"Thank you, Garroth."
"Aphmau, dear, would you show him to his room? It's the empty guest bedroom on the 3rd floor." King Matthias said.
"Uhh, actually, I have a house of my own. You don't mind me living in it, do you?" Garroth asked while sheathing his diamond sword.
"My apologies, Garroth. Of course you can!" King Matthias said with chuckle in his words and a twinkle in his eyes.
"There's no need to apologize, Sire."
Aphmau stood up and walked over to us. "May I be excused?"
"Yes."
Aphmau then walks into the hallway but runs when she's out of the king'a sight. She ran down the hallway and into the garden. She sat down on a rock and stared at the flowers.
"M'lady, what are you doing?" I asked walking up behind her.
She jumped, startled. "Oh my goodness I forgot you follow me around."
"I can leave if you want."
She turns around "Nonsense. You don't need to leave."
"If you say so."
She didn't speak for some time.
"Garroth, why do you wear that helmet?" She asked as she turned around.
"There are some things that not everybody needs to see, M'lady."
"What do you mean by that?" She asked confused.
I sighed. "M'lady, I wear this because of my past."
"Oh," she looked down. "I'll be going back to my room." She walked away with her head down.
Did I say something?
As I followed her back, I wondered what happened. What is so bad about her past? She was a little far ahead of me, and I saw her walk into a room. I walked to the room and stood outside the door.
"I'll be out here if you need me." I said while positioning myself outside her door.
I didn't hear a reply. I only heard quiet sobbing.
I opened the door and I find her kneeled on the floor with her hands on her face. I walked up to her. "M'lady, what's wrong? Did I say something back there."
"N-no, I-I-I just..." She sobs even harder.
I knelt down beside her and grabbed her wrists and pulled her up to where she was looking at me. I softly say "What happened back there?"
"W-when you said past, I was r-reminded of my p-past" she said between sobs.
"Hey, now. There's no need to cry."
She raised her voice a little. "Yes there is, Garroth!" Then she looked down lowered her voice. "I-I lost my mother when I was 6."
I was instantly reminded of how my mother died.
She was killed by Shadow Knights.

"Hi mommy!"
"Hello Garroth."
I was looking at a women with long blonde hair and blue eyes. I was like a version of her. Everyone said I looked just like her.
"Can I go outside?"
"Of course, dear." She says smiling.
I ran outside, down the path, and to the creek. This was always my favorite spot growing up. It's calming. It's a place where I can get away from the royal life.
"I wish I was normal." I said with a sigh.
"Be careful what you wish for."
Zane.
"What do you want, Zane?"
"Father needs you."
Oh great. Just great.
"Where-" I started but Zane quickly interrupts me.
"He's in his study."
"Oh ok." I walked off to the castle.
As I walk, I looked around at the scenery. I notice a few birds twittering in the trees, and the wind blowing lightly across the hills that surround our castle. All was well in Ok'Hasis.
I heard some rustling and look over towards the bushes at the edge of the nearby forest. Knowing it was the wind, I shrug it off and continue walking down the cobblestone path.
Only... It wasn't just nothing.
I hear a shrill scream and run into the forest. I began to worry of what I might come across. I searched around a little bit more. I felt a dark aura creep around me. It doesn't feel right.
I see a clearing up ahead. I continue walking towards it. When I get there, I look around. And what i saw made my world stop.
There, on the grass, was my mother...
Dead.
"MOMMY!'' I run up to her. "MOMMY DON'T LEAVE ME!"
I shake her to wake her up, but she doesn't wake.
"MOMMY, PLEASE!"
The streams of tears were rolling down my face as I sob like I never had in my 8 years of living.
I collapsed onto her and cry. I wish it was me and not her. She doesn't deserve anything like this. Whoever did this will pay.
I'll make them all pay.
Every. Last. Shadow Knight.
