Chapter 1: How to survive..?

before everything went to hell

"VANCE!! VANCE!!" She cried and continued to bang on his door with her fist. "HURRY!! WE HAVE TO GO NOW!!" She looked behind her and screamed as a walker slowly approaching her, she looked in its eyes...so lifeless, so dead. Vance opened the door and let her in quickly, pulling her into a hug as he shut the door. "Are you okay..?" He asked her with concern. "OKAY?! IM NOT OKAY!!" She screamed at him. A hand grabbed his shoulder and a face appeared, sinking it's teeth into him. "VANCE NOOOO!!!" She screamed, tears falling down her face. "RUN!! GO NOW!!! AHHHH!" Vance yelled at her, screaming in pain. She pulled out her knife and stabbed it's face until it let go of Vance and fell to the floor.

"Vance..." She said his name...her voice light and shaky. She held him in her arms and pulled him close, stroking his hair. He put his hand on her cheek and looked in her eyes. "Go...before I turn.." He said, fighting back the tears. "No! I'm not leaving you here!" "Baby girl...I love you, I'm always gonna be in your heart. I don't want to die and turn in your arms..." He whispered to her, one tear rolled down his cheek slowly. He reached up and kissed her slowly. "Now go Rayn, I love you, forever and always." His breathing slowly stopped and he died in her arms. She cried and slowly tore away. She ran out the door, holding her knife close, letting all the tears run down her face.

She ran through the walker filled streets, watching people get bit or shot. The gun fire rang in her head as she ran for her life down the road. She ran back to her house to grab anything else she could carry in her backpack. She found a rifle with only four bullets left, a bow but no arrows, food and an extra pair of clothes. Rayn filled bags with anything she could find and quickly ran all the bags out to the car. She got in her car and slowly started to drive down the street, avoiding any walkers.

Her grip on the steering wheel tighten and her knuckles turned white. "Vance..." She said, as like he was still with her. She cried even more, letting the tears fall down her face and on to her lap. She looked out the passenger window and saw a group of about four guys all on horses, galloping away from the small town and into the forest. She continued to drive, Rayn didn't know where she was going, all she knew was it was away from here. "I'm going to die, I'm not going to make it out alive." She said to herself, and stared at the road.

The night sky was filled with stars and with the moon shining bright she could easily see where she was going. Must keep going, don't look back...don't look back...don't lo-- She slapped her hand and shook her head to make the thoughts of going back to a lifeless Vance away. "I wish I could wake up with Amnesia, and forget about the stupid little things..like how it felt to fall asleep next to you.." She sung to herself, and continued to cry...letting everything go to hell. She just wanted him back...so badly..she would give up anything to go back to him. "DAMN IT! DAMN IT DAMN IT DAMN IT!" She screamed at herself.

She drove all through the night, letting her thoughts tear her apart slowly. She pulled over and looked around her, making sure it was safe to get out. The sun just started to rise, giving off some light. She felt the warmth of the suns rays on her back as she got out of the car and walked to the back to get something to eat. She looked down at her shirt, all covered in his blood. She quickly took it off and changed into a hoodie. "Who the hell are you?" A voice said. She felt the end of the rifle on her back, she slowly put her hands up and didn't move. "I...uh..I.." "Shut up bitch." The voice said, making her wince. This is it, I'm going to die right here.. "Dude, calm down." Another voice called and the rifle was taken off her back but she didn't dare move an inch. "Turn around." The other voice said, as she slowly started to turn around, the guy with the rifle slapped her in the face, making her fall to the ground. "Guys! What the fuck?!" Another voice said, she looked at the ground, scared of what to do next. "Are you okay..?" The voice said, crouching down beside her. She nodded, fighting back the tears. "I'm Knox, and who might you be..?" I'm Rayn..." She said, her voice trembling. Knox stood up and stared at the three other guys. "You scared the poor girl! What the fuck is wrong with all of you!" He screamed at them. Vance where are you... A hand reached down. "Let me help you up." She grabbed Knox's hand and stood up, still looking at the ground.
