"MACKENZIE WHITE! DON'T YOU DARE RUN OUT OF THIS HOUSE" My incompetent mother yells to me.

"TOO LATE" I yell back, tears on my face.

I stop at the edge of the shore, and take a deep breath.

I run down the beach to a rocky area, and strip down. I walk into the water to my waist, take a giant deep breath, and dive under.

The transformation is painful, but I'm used to it so it isn't as bad.

I feel my legs being mounded together, and I can see the blue scales attaching to me.

I can feel the top half of my body getting stiff, and I grit my teath at the attachment to my chest.

I feel my lungs expand, and my feet flip to a tail.

Complete.

Transformation.

I dodge coral, brushing my tail against seaweed, which tickles a bit.

I look around, scanning to make sure no one is there, as if people actually come this far out. They are to scared of sweet innocent sharks.
I mean, other than biting peoples heads off, if they hurt you atleast it's not inntentional. They only think your a seal.
I mean, really? All you have to do is pound on there nose and they go away. I mean come on.

I push my hair out of my face, and swim up, breaking surface.
I take a deep breath, and dive back under.

Now I bet your saying

"Uhm, mermaids can breathe underwater"

Yeah yeah, blah blah blah.

But what you don't know, is that we
can't breathe underwater forever.

But, for me, even though I can go a half an hour without air, if I inhale a deep breath of air before I go down, instead of a small one, it will give me just about an extra fifteen minutes to stay underwater before I need air again.

I flutter my tail up and down, trying to get to the bottom of the ocean.
I try to stop myself in time, but I can't and I plummit face first, getting a mouthful of sand.

Eck!

I spit it out, and cautiously try to not use the ocean water to rinse my mouth.

I giggle as a small sea turtle swims up behind me, and swims around me.
The water movement tickles my stomach, and I laugh.

The turtles backs away, frightened.

"It's okay, little guy" I whisper.

He floats, as if almost..paralyzed.

I look at him, and realize he is staring behined me? Not at me.

I turn, to come face to face with a long 'snout' like nose.

I back away a bit, as the creature nudges me.

As I back away, I see it start to come into formation.

Black eyes, and grey 'skin'

I smile, scooping up the turtle, and pulling him back away from the creature.

That creature is a dolphin.

He looks up at me, and then swims to the dolphin, nudging it.

The dolphin does a 'backflip' type move, and then swims away, the turtle following. I smile at the sight, and turn to swim away.

As I turn, I'm tackled, and pushed to the bottom of the ocean. I force myself to flip myself and the other person, and I'm on top. I get out of its grip, and swim away.
