"YOU KNOW THIS A**HOLE?"

"HEY! Don't shout at her like that!" he rushed over to me with a protective stance. Bad move. It just made my brother more furious. Styx took a threatening step forward which my mate mirrored. They were both creatures on the edge. I had to stop this immediately, this battle would not end well. You could already see my brother's eyes turning from light blue to black. They were in an intense glaring competition which made my blood boil. I was furious. I don't want them to fight over nothing. It was ridiculous. They don't even know each other.I stood between them ready to shout at them to stop but the sound that erupted from me instead was a loud ear piercing screech that made them grab their ears as they fell to the ground. They were screaming and begging for it to stop. I realized what I had done and immediately, my anger vanished which was quickly replaced with worry. The screeching had stopped.

"Are yall okay?" I asked them concerned as I rushed to their sides, but they didn't turn to face me. I shook them and asked them again but they didn't respond. They couldn't hear me. Shit. What do I do now?! I started to tear a little as the thought of me hurting them like this was mortifying. Both of them rushed to me as soon as they realized I was about to cry and embraced me while glaring at each other. Get a grip. I told myself. It was my fault they were in this state. I tugged at both of their hands to bring them home so that I can examine the damage that I have caused. I was acting calm but I was terrified. I don't want them to be deaf. I motioned for them to sit on the couch as I brought a pail of cold water and a wet towel. I sat between them and took a look at their ears. They were bleeding. What have I done? I thought to myself again as I started to tear up. Again. I couldn't believe this. I'm a monster. I placed wet towels on both of their ears and sat myself between them on the couch. The guilt finally washed over me and the tears started to escape. I couldn't control it any longer and the tears started flowing as though it was raining and they didn't stop. I was internally praying that they'll be alright. Once again, both of them hugged me gesturing that it alright which only made me feel worse. I couldn't calm myself down  and my crying had become worse. I started to hum to a song my mom used to sing to me when I was little when I cried to calm me down. Soon enough, I was quietly singing along to the song softly. I looked at my brother again and touched his ear. As I did, he smiled at me and said "your voice is beautiful."

I smiled with tears brimming my eyes "you can hear me?" he nodded slowly and gestured towards my mate. "I think it's the song. Try singing and touching his ears again" I followed his instructions and sure enough, he looked at me amazed and asked "how did you do that?" I just shook my head and leaned on my brother's shoulder. I head a low growl erupting from my mate. "I think we have some unfinished business" said my brother as he glanced at my mate. He stood up and walked towards the kitchen table.

I sat down beside my brother as my mate entered the kitchen. Styx motioned for him to sit. "explain." My brother said flatly. I looked from Styx to my mate and back to my brother. "okay ummmm.... So this is" I started as I was cut off "Zale. I am her mate. Now, who are you?" he said with a deadly stare. I could see his eyes turning to the colour of his wolf. "What the hell Aphrodite? MATE? He's a wolf?!" shouted Styx enraged which only made this whole situation more tense. "I'm her brother. Styx."he deadpanned as he turned to face Zale. Ahhhhhh so that's his name. Zale. The atmosphere got awkward real quick as silence filled the air.

"Hey man I'm sorry I didn't know you were her brother." Zale apologized. At least he owns up for his mistake I thought. However, my brother was still furious. "Does he know?" my brother asked me. I nodded timidly. I know I have gone against the rules for telling him what we were. "Damn it Dite" he cursed out loud. "So what does this mean, now that you have found your mate? How does this affect me and my sister?" my brother asked Zale in a all business tone.

"Well for starters, join my pack."
