Their shelter had finally been finished and their essay was just finished being edited. They still had 2 more days until the project was due. After studying with Zach, Nick learned a lot about him. He learned that Zach was actually part Native American, in the Blackfoot tribe, he learned that his favorite part of school was English class, but most importantly, he learned that Zach wasn't a bully, and was actually really smart. The shelter was built mostly by Zach, because he was good with his hands. Nick wrote most of the essay because they had decided that he had better handwriting and vocabulary. They were working at Nick's house, in his room. Once they were absolutely finished, Zach said, "Hey, Nick. Do you think that, since we're finished early, we could ask Ms. Kimo if there's any extra credit we could do?" Thinking about this, Nick answered, "Yeah, that's a great idea. Do you want to head down to her after lunch tomorrow?" "Sounds like a plan, Stan!" Zach said. "Wait, did you really forget that my name was Nick?" "Um, no. Why do you ask?" Zach replied to his unusual question. "Because you called me 'Stan'." Nick answered, a little bit offended. Zach looked at him and burst out laughing. He actually fell onto the floor laughing and rolled around. He sat back up and wiped a tear from his eyes while he continued chuckling. "It's just a rhyme. I didn't forget your name. Have you never heard that?" "No" Nick answered, his cheeks growing red. "What about 'See you later, alligator! Not for a while, crocodile!'?" Zach asked him, looking amused at Nick confused face. "No!" He answered again, but louder. "Oh, sorry Nick, didn't mean to get you mad. I'll talk to later. I think my Dad's here to get me. Bye!" He said running towards Nick's front door. Waving his hand to him as he ran towards his Dad's car. "Bye!" Nick yelled after him. He watched them drive off and then remembered that tomorrow was Ellie's birthday... And he forgot to get her a present...
