Peering around a hallway corner, I saw Dirk roused Jake, and pulled out his phone. The began to converse in low tones. "How do we get out of here?" Jake asked, "Who do we call?"
Dirk responded with, "John? Roxy? Rose? Karkat? Any of the aliens?"
Aliens? What the hell?
Jake countered most, "John is visiting Roxy and Rose at their house and ALL THE GOOD ALIENS ARE BLOODY DEAD...Ok Karkat isn't that horrible of an idea."
"Who the hell is Karkat?" I thought to myself. Jake pulled his phone free of his jeans pocket. I'm actually surprised it wasn't ruined in the storm. Anyway, Jake entered his password and called "Karkat." I must have been breathing to loud because Dirk stiffened and said, "Imma go check on..." He glanced at the wall, which had my name written in book titles. "Mason. Imma go check on Mason."
"Ok." Jake responded, still waiting for Karkat to answer. I shuffled backwards, just making it to my room and sprawling across an unmade bed, just as he opened the door. He smiled slightly and moved into the room. He peered down at me and pulled the covers up to my chest. He whispered, "Thank you." And left the room. I kicked the covers off and paced down the hall a foot behind him. He had no idea I was lurking in the shadows. "Karkat" had apparently gotten the call and was now yelling at Jake.
"DO YOU EVEN KNOW HOW FUCKING EARLY IT IS HERE!" He shrieked.
"Ok yeah, be quiet-don't wake up Mason." Jake responded quickly. "Get over here and bring a car or something. Dave got into a fight, it's storming and we need help." He stated. I was at the lip of the hall now, crouched in the shadows, when suddenly, a dim beam of blue light appeared, and something appeared in the middle of it. "The cars outside. Where's Dave and where the flying fuck am I?" The creature I believed was Karkat said. He had two short horns sitting atop his ink colored hair. His skin was... grey. I tensed, ready to spring. I didn't see Dirk, but the bathroom was behind me- but the light was off so he couldn't be in there. I sprang forward, landing on Karkat's back and knocking him to the ground. I placed my forearm on the back of his throat. "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU!?" I screeched down at him. I heard footsteps on front of me. And behind? No not behind- my world went black as I collapsed on top of Karkat, Dirk having struck my temple.
"GET HER OFF OF ME" Karkat yelled.
Dirk smirked and lifted me off the screaming alien. They grabbed an umbrella, scooped up Dave, hacked my security and left the house, Jake taking the front passenger seat, Dave on the left window seat, me in the middle, and Karkat on the right window seat.
