"Sean, I swear if you don't SHUT UP, I'M GOING TO LEAVE!" Jennifer screams.

"Leave then, I'm better off without you!" dad replies calmly.

"FINE!  I'm leaving!".  The door slams and a car engine starts and drives away in a hurry.  Dad comes upstairs and opens my door.

"Honey, are you okay?" Dad asks.

Black tears stream down my cheeks from my makeup.

"You woke me up, again, is she gone?" I ask.

"Yes hon, Jennifer's gone", dad replies sadly.

"I know you might not see it dad, but I hated her, and I know you don't believe me but, she was so cruel to me when you weren't around" I say more tears building up in my red eyes.

"I don't know if I believe it, Kylie, but I love you, and she's gone, she's never coming back" dad says.

"What about mom?" I ask.

"No baby, your mother and I aren't getting back together" dad says hurt.

I nod my head, I thought so.

My dad and I have a strong bond, I see him more than I see my mom.  I know my mom loves me, she just doesn't seem to care about spending time with me, her own daughter.  My dad, he wouldn't miss a chance to be with me for the world.

"Get some cereal honey, and get your stuff ready for tomorrow, first day of school, whoop whoop!" My dad teases.

I roll my eyes at him and we both laugh.  I pour my cereal and milk in the bowl.

"And we're back at WJZ News!  This just in, an outbreak of a disease in Texas.  People have been evacuating Texas, trying to get away from the people that are infected.  Some people reported to have seen, bloody and gruesome, lifeless looking individuals roaming around Texas" the news man says on the television.

"Dad, what's that?" I ask nervously.

"Oh nothing, Kylie, it's fake.  Probably just some younger kids playing tricks and it got on the news, don't worry about it" dad replies.

"Are you sure, dad, it looks so real?" I say sitting down next to dad on the couch.  In a helicopter, camera men are filming some of the people that are roaming around.

"Uhh, yes Kylie, you have nothing to worry about." Dad says.

"Are you sure, we live in Texas, I don't know if I want to go to school tomorrow, Dad." I say nervously.

"Kylie, you're going to school tomorrow whether you like it of not, and if anything happens and you have to come home, I'll come for you, but if anything happens, it's not going to be about this fake crap, okay?" dad asks.

I look at him in the eyes, his eyes look exactly like mine, clear blue.  I look for the comfort in his eyes, it's definitely there.

"Okay" I say.
