After flying, I felt amazing. Better than I had ever felt. Cathy, the other panther, and I decided to continue on to where we'd been headed in the first place. I nearly asked where we were going when I was hit with freezing cold wind. I looked up and saw piercing blue clouds, flecked with gold. They looked as if they'd been painted, though they moved with a purpose, so it seemed. The cloud moved downwards, to a building not too far from us. As it got closer, dark shapes seemed to manifest. I realised they looked like people. I gasped when they landed on the building near me. Cathy looked up and smiled. She turned to me. "Those are The Winged of The Underground. They watch over demons and make sure nothing comes above ground that need not be here." I looked at her then back up at the group. "Why are they all females?" She took a second to contemplate my question. "Every male that has ever been to the underground never returned. Every female that's gone down, though, has returned. We don't know what happened to the males. Some say they've turned to demons. Some say they found a labyrinth and got lost. Some people even go as far as saying they wanted to stay in the undergrounds. Nobody knows." I nod at the words. One day, I want to be a Winged of The Underground. We continue on. They turn into their panthers and thinking I should change as well, I choose to go with my black leopard. The male panther spoke, My name is Luke Silver. I nod. We walk in the doors of a two story building. It was the smallest building I'd seen yet. When we got inside, I was amazed. It looked so much bigger than it did outside. It was glamorous. The walls were the brightest gold I'd ever seen. It shone as if it was real. As I stared at it, people walked through it. I nearly ran into what looked like a gargoyle, but quickly sidestepped it and actually hit someone. I looked at who I'd hit. He had eyes white as a snow covered glacier. What took me by total surprise was....he had wings. Jacob. The name rang through my mind again. I stumbled backwards, nearly falling. He shot forward and grabbed my arm, stopping my fall. I righted myself and looked at his face. He didn't look away. He took one step back, took in a sharp breath, and before anything else could happen, he rushes off, leaving the feeling of his hand on my arm. Cathy and Luke were way ahead of me and I decided that, instead of walking through the people, possibly running into them, that I'd fly to them. I shifted and lifted into the air. I landed a few feet ahead of them. When they got to me, Luke acknowledged me with a nod, and they shifted to their big cats. "You have fun getting lost in the crowd?" He chuckled then. I glare, "Was I not supposed to? Especially being left not knowing where I'm going? You could have turned and helped." He laughed, "Looked like you had all the help you need. That winged boy I saw helped you, did he not?" I nod. "Well then," he says, "you didn't need our help." I scoff and follow Cathy, who had been edging slightly to the right. Luke bounded ahead of me, slowing beside Cathy. I speed up a little as not to fall too far behind.
