The Prize Girl Chapter Three
Brad dropped me off in front of the clothing store. I watched him drove away. As I turned my back, the charming styled mannequin caught my eyes. A white cotton sundress was covering the mannequin’s plastic ideal body. The line of its embroidery went through the sabrina style top. I stared at them for a few seconds before a bag hit my arm.
“Sorry.” The red-haired woman said then turned to her friend, “Come on! Gina said there’s a sale in here!” They rushed into the edgy store and passed the two security.
I walked in with my hands in my pocket. As I passed the entrance full of detector, there’s a lot of red sale sign. I smiled and rushed to choose clothes. Another hands met mine in the t-shirt box. We didn’t bother to look whose hand it was since we were too busy to grab anything we could and took it before somebody else did. I took some piece of t-shirts, two pairs of jeans and shorts.
I let go a content sigh then my eyes stopped in the figure of the shiny black mannequin. The sundress still whispered and seduced me to buy it. I held my breath then head to the cashier. In total, it was $250. I would buy that dress if I had my own money. For now on, I only need to buy what I need.
I took the white plastic bag and headed outside. A middle-aged lady walked passed me in a fast pace. I walked behind her. She paused then walked pass the detector. Suddenly, the detector went wild with noise. I held back in shock. The lady brought nothing with her, I mean, she didn’t shop anything. Could she be a shoplifter?
Two men who guarded the entrance spontaneously took her by her arms then forced her to come with them. I took a pity for her.
“Oh, I thought you’re the shoplifter, Prize Girl.” A sweet voice broke the shock. I turned myself and found Amber with her usual heavy make-up. Her hazel eyes observed me, “Those clothes on you look better on me. Look who’s shopping here?” She asked sarcastically.
I stuttered in another shot of shock, “Amber… What are you doing here?”
She smiled in victory and moved her revealed hips, “Boss Romario took me shopping.”
Romario? He’s here?
Amber’s smile rose again as she looked far behind me. She lifted her hand then waved at the person who stood behind me. The heartbeat of mine stopped for a moment then went on wildly. I knew who’s behind me. I knew this scent. I knew this piercing feeling. I remember this fear.
“Sweetheart! Are you done?” The heavy husky voice said in cheer.
I shiver in fear then made my way back to the store without even trying to peek back. I could catch Amber’s red nails making its way to my arm. She took me by surprise, “Romario! Look at this! I found something that would totally please you.”
That moment, I knew my death is closer than the distance of my lower and upper lips. Romario still laughed festively.
“Mi amor, these amazing lips pleased me already. Come here, let me visit them before we visit your friend.” Amber’s hand still held mine as strong as before their lips wrestle one another which produce a loud noise.
I looked far to the cashier table. A wide mirror was glued to the wall for decoration. It reflected the entrance view. Romario’s bald head was moving side to side while his hands framed Amber’s face. Angelo and two other underdogs were laughing at the view. Amber hand started to trail Romario’s bald head.
