⠀⠀"Is she okay?" I asked, my question directed at a male doctor sitting beside Kendall. I heaved myself up into the ambulance and took a seat on the opposite side of Kendall.

⠀⠀"She will be," the doctor said slowly. "thanks to you."

⠀⠀My eyebrows furrowed in confusion, unsure of what I had done to help Kendall. Noting my confusion, he began to speak again.

⠀⠀"She would have died of blood loss if your hand wouldn't have been on her knee when you passed out. Believe it or not, your hand help stop the bleeding. You're the reason she's alive."

⠀⠀I bowed my head bashfully. I should feel honoured, like a hero. But I had let Liza get away, and that seemed to overshadow my heroic actions.

⠀⠀"Your friend Mackenzie will also be alright, she's a little shaken up. But she'll be okay." The doctor said softly.

⠀⠀As if on cue, Mackenzie and Nia then made an appearance at the back of the ambulance.

⠀⠀"Where's Maddie?" Kenzie asked nervously.

My eyes widened, thinking she had stayed with Kenzie.

⠀⠀"We heard a gunshot and she ran into woods to find you and Kendall." Nia added solemnly. There was a silent moment when no one spoke.

⠀⠀"The police are gonna want to speak with us," Nia wispered. "Are we going to tell them everything?"

⠀⠀"We can't!" I said a little too loudly.

⠀⠀"They can't know about the roof." Kendall wispered.

⠀⠀It was at that exact moment when a fourth person joined us in the back of the stationary ambulance. Tears streamed down her face, her clothes dirty and her hair was mused.

⠀⠀It was Maddie. She chocked down a few sobs before she began to speak.

⠀⠀"It wasn't Liza, the one who was sending us the notes. It was Paige; she wasn't dead." Maddie's voice was raspy and hoarse.

⠀⠀Paige? The one who had tortured us? The one who had sent all those text messages. The one who had been in the bathroom with Kendall?

Paige had put the knife in my pillow.
Paige had written on Maddie's mirror.
Paige had lit Nia's house on fire.
Paige had killed Josh.
Paige had buried Mackenzie.
Paige had shot Kendall.
She had done it all.

⠀⠀The room seemed to spin around me. I was struck with shock. Paige, my Twinnie, had killed my boyfriend. I could feel tears burning behind my eyelids, but I forced them away. I burbled with emotions; betrayal, sadness, anger.

⠀⠀At that moment, Maddie broke down. She hysterically managed to tell us the whole story from the moment she left Nia and Kenzie to when Paige fell off the cliff.

⠀⠀"She's dead now." Maddie finished solemnly.

⠀⠀"Not necessarily," Nia countered. "she could have survived.

⠀⠀"We need to go check." I stated.

⠀⠀The others nodded their agreement as they began to stand up.

⠀⠀"I'm coming too." Kendall stated as she sat up and hobbled over to a wheelchair next to her. We walked down the path leading to the cliff solemnly, the only noise was footsteps against the dirt and the sound of Nia pushing Kendall's wheelchair. We arrived within minutes.

⠀⠀"This is the spot." Maddie whispered.

⠀⠀I was conflicted. Part of me could hardly wait to discover Paige's fate and yet at the same time, the other part of me was scared to find out. I fearfully glanced over the edge of the cliff.

⠀⠀The steep bank led into a formation of sharp rocks that formed the ravine. I scanned the area, but all that met my eyes was nothing out of the ordinary. There were rocks and ledges— but nothing else. As far as my eyes could scan, I didn't see anybody.

⠀⠀"She's gone." Maddie whispered confusion laced in her voice.

{A/N: okay, so I know that a few loose ends were never tied up; Paige's body, Liza, etc. I intended on writing a sequel, but I'm not sure if it will happen. Sorry. If i find time, I'll try to write it.}
