He'd organized it all.
Of course, with a little help from his friends.
Percy thought everything would go perfect. He even chose the perfect date - 18 August - the day he and Annabeth started officially dating. Now, six years later he thought they were ready for the next stage.
Marriage.
But he had no idea how fatal the day would end.
Percy smiled when Annabeth woke him up that morning.
'Happy Birthday, Seaweed Brain.' she gave him a kiss and Percy pulled her into their bed.
'Don't I get a special present?' he asked with a smirk. He turned around so Annabeth was underneath him, Percy started kissing her on every place he saw.
First a softly kiss on her ear. Then he went down, he kissed her neck. This time a little roughly. Annabeth started laughing when he kissed her breast.
'Stop it, Seaweed Brain,' she said with a big smile,'it's still morning.'
Percy started laughing, too,'I don't give a damn.' and he gave her a long kiss on her lips. Percy knew she loved that because of the salty taste on his lips.
Annabeth answered his kiss by putting his shirt out.
'Maybe your right.' Annabeth explained,'you shouldn't give a damn. It's your birthday so you can do everything you want.'
Percy grinned. He loved his Wise Girl so much.
'I want,' he whispered with a little break because he kissed Annabeth again,'you.'
'I don't belong to anyone' Annabeth told him seriously ,'but for you, I can make an exeption.'
Percy laughed and Annabeth put her shirt off, too.
'Nice bra' Percy smirked.
'Shut up, Seaweed Brain. Your underwear isn't any better.'
Percy looked down at his blue boxer shorts with dolphins.
'Where are you talking about? It's perfect!'
Annabeth gave him a weird face.
'Okay,' Percy grinned,'if you don't like it I'll put it off.' and so he did.
There little moment got interrupted as suddenly as it started.
'WAKE UP!' Coach came in, when he saw Annabeth and Percy he started screaming even louder,'WHAT THE HADES ARE YOU CUPCAKES DOING?,' Percy and Annabeth covered theirselves quickly in the blankets.
'N..nothing coach.' Percy stambled.
'NOTHING!? I SAW YOU GUYS DOING SOMETHING THAT I WON'T CALL 'NOTHING'! GET DRESSES RIGHT NOW SO WE CAN CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY, PERCY! AND ANNABETH, I EXPECTED BETTER OF YOU!'
'But coach.. We're already twenty-two.'
'I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY OF YOUR EXCUSES! OUTSIDE IN 10 MINUTES! BOTH OF YOU!'
Hedge went away and they both started laughing.
'I liked your way to wake me up a little bit more fun.'
Annabeth gave Percy a soft punch on his shoulder.
'We should get dressed.' Annabeth told Percy,'Maybe you should also take a shower because you're sweating a bit.'
'Gee, I wonder how that comes.' he answered sarcasticly
'Feeling smart, Seaweed Brain?' Annabeth wondered.
'Haha' Percy placed a last kiss on Annabeth's forehead before he went into the shower. He heard Annabeth leaving the room so he start humming. This day would be perfect.
He'd invited everyone. His mother and Paul. All his friends from back in Camp Half-Blood. He'd even told Mr. D that he could come. Mr. D had said that he could forget that but somehow Percy knew Dionysus would be there. No matter what he'd said.
Of course he'd also invited all the Romans because the celebrating was in New Rome.
Leo'd said he would make some epic firework. His exact words,'Those sizzle Romans will be blasted out of there lame chairs by my badass firework. BAM!' and he'd make some weird movements with his hands.
'Eum Leo,' Percy had said,'please promise that you won't blow up New Rome like last time.'
Leo had give Percy a deadly look and Percy started laughing and punched him friendly on the shoulder.
'Don't worry Leo, I trust you. Make it the biggest spectacel ever if you want.'
'Thanks' Leo'd say and he'd mumbled things like 'fire dragons' when he walked away, which made Percy doubted if it was good that he'd told Leo he could do eveything he wanted to.
Of course Percy didn't want to let Annabeth know that he was about to propose to her so he'd told her he wanted to give a big birthday party. First, Annabeth had looked at him weird. Normally he didn't really celebrate his birthday, he'd just hang-out and eat blue cake with his friends. Nothing more, nothing less.
That was especially because on his 16th birthday dozens of his friends died during the battle of Manhattan. Percy felt bad when he'd party on that day, a day when so many people passed away.
Annabeth asked if there was a reason why he wanted something so big.
Percy's excuse was:'I just think this is a good day to see all our friends again.'
Annabeth'd looked at him with doubt in her eyes. Like if she knew he was holding something behind. Which was probably true because Annabeth always knew everything.
When Percy was done with his shower he walked outside. He was glad when he saw that Coach Hedge fell asleep before their door so he didn't need to hear him yelling for 'doing' it with Annabeth.
Percy smirked when he thought about it.
Suddenly someone screamed
'HAPPY BIRTHDAY!'
He looked around and a crowd of people were coming at him. He spotted Piper, who'd yelled, but also Grover, Jason, Frank, Hazel, Nico, the brothers Stoll, even Clarisse and her boyfriend Chris and so many more. He saw Rachel talking to Calypso and Reyna. Percy hoped that she wasn't telling embrassing scenes of him to them.
'Happy birthday Percy!' Grover gave Percy a man hug and started crying.
'Hey G-man, it's alright. I'm just getting one year older.'
'You know that's not why I'm so emotional.' Grover complained.
'Relax, it will all be fine.' Percy comforted Grover.
'Yeah, you're right. You guys are perfect for each other.'
'See?' Percy grinned.
'Happy Birthday, bro.' Jason said and they gave each other a bro fist. He told Percy he was proud and that they deserve to be happy. Percy hoped that the Fates were with Jason and let Percy and Annabeth live happily. The passed few years were great. He'd helped Jason with his promise to give all the minor gods temples or cabins. They went on three quest but he didn't mind, it was fun to fight sometimes. His life was great without big prophecies.
Percy got overwelmed with congratulations. One of the reason he didn't like big birthday parties, so many people that wanted to talk to you.
'Hi. Thanks for coming.' he said to everybody.
Percy saw that Leo wasn't here.
When he asked Jason where he was he told Percy he was doing 'some last details'
Suddenly Percy realized that he was about to ask Annabeth to marry him. So many things could go wrong. What if he didn't dare to ask it when the moment was there? What if Annabeth would laugh? Percy started to stress.
It must've been obvious because Piper took his hands and told him everything would work out okay. Percy knew she was using charmspeak but he didn't mind.
