"Hello. This is the Monroe County of New York State Police Department. How may I help you?" welcomed the woman on the phone.
"Hi. My name is Elizabeth Evans and I need help fast."
The Next Day
*RING*, the door called. I looked out the window and noticed two black Chevys parked right in front of the driveway.
"I'll get it!" I called out.
"No! I'll get it!" my father yelled while stomping angrily on his way to the door. Who are these people and what do they want?!" exclaimed my father. He opened the door and standing there were two policeman.
"Are you the father of the Evans family?" asked one of the officers.
"Yes I am...what is this? what do you want?!" harshly replied my father.
"We got a call about child abuse on your daughter, Elizabeth," explained the other officer. He looked over at me. "We're here to take your daughter away."
My father looked over at me with piercing eyes. "Elizabeth Marie Evans! Did you call the cops on me?!" my father shouted with a tight fist in his hand. Before he could do anything, one of the officers grabbed his arm and handcuffed him.
I quickly packed all my belongings in under ten minutes. I didn't have much stuff anyways.
"We must go now. Any last words, each of you?"
"Elizabeth, all I want to say is that you're a worthless piece of crap! It was a pain taking care of you, I wish you were never born!"
"What do you mean taking care of me?! You haven't done a single thing that was even close to that! Dad, I hate you. I hate you more than anyone could ever hate. My heart has been a black hole because of you all through my life. I'm sick of it. You were never a father to me and you never will be. That's why I called them, so I would never have to see you and your BS ever again!"
For the first time, I saw my father's face turn sorrow. "Goodbye."
I stepped into one of the black Chevys, and my father stepped into the other. My heart was beating fast. My mind was racing with many questions. I didn't know where they were taking me, and I didn't know what would happen to my life next.
