I inhale sharply, my eyes shooting open. I groan at the brightness of the room and move my head to the side and shut my eyes in pain.

"Alice?" I heard a deep voice ask

"....g-god, is that you?" My voice cracking, I feel like I haven't tasted water in so long.

"No, I'm not god," the voice laughed, "Do you want water?" He asked, I nod slightly lifting my hand to cover my eyes and to try open them again

"Do you want me to dim the light?" I nod again in response, not finding enough strength to speak.

Once the lights are off, the sunlight from the window being the only light, I open my eyes again and try to register where I am...

The hospital. The beeping from the machine next to me starts going faster.

"Hey, calm down... drink up," the guy sooths bringing a straw close to my mouth, I open my mouth and take in long gulps.

I'm halfway finished with the water bottle when he pulls it away.

"I'm gonna go get the doctor now," he says and puts the water back in the table next to my bed.

"Wait! Can I just get some sleep first? When I wake up again you can call the doctor in to test me...?" I ask

"I can't risk you not waking up again," he denied and walks out of the room.

"Come back! What you mean?" I asked loudly.

I look down at my body, my left hand in a big white cast and writing all over it. 'I love you -dad' 'wake up soon, I miss you -Lilah' 'please get well -Emma' 'I love you♥ -Lilah' and more things saying wake up and get well.

What the hell is going on? Wake up?

I try to get up but my legs don't respond. My legs... I panick, I can't feel them. What's going on!? I throw the covers off of my legs and touch them with my good hand.

I don't feel anything, I try and move my legs but I just can't. They aren't responding.

"Help!" I cry out.

"Please? I-i need help!" I repeat, I whimper at the headache I'm feeling. I go back to trying to have my legs move or respond to me touching them but nothing.

"You're awake now, Miss Wilson," The doctor walks in with a clipboard in hand a guy behind him with dark hair... I think he was the one who gave me water.

"I-i can't feel my legs... What's wrong with me?" I asked the doctor.

"Do you remember anything? What's your last memory?" He asked ignoring my question.

I try thinking back, a blur of memories at the graduation beach party rush by.

"Uh... I was at a party with my friends and boyfriend.. We had a fight and I left? I-i was going home and then that's it.." I answer warily.

"Well, on your way home, you got into a car accident... You were lucky you didnt die..." The doctor wrote down what I said to him

"What?... But why can't I feel my legs? And what did he mean by possibly not waking up again?" I asked

"Alice... When the truck hit you, it broke your left arm... And left you paralyzed from the waist down... When you were rushed here we did surgery on you to remove the glass that was stuck in your arm and body,  you went into a coma... You've been out for three months," he states
