Broken hearts

Virat's phone rang for the third time and he picked up the call. It was from Priya, his chief advisor and friend. Priya was frustrated as Virat didn't show up for the party, this was a very important event for the company as Mr. Malhotra was a new client for their first foreign project.
Priya- where the hell are you Virat?? Its already 8 and u and Manvi are nowhere to be seen...
Virat- why are you shouting?? What's wrong??
Priya- what's wrong?? Are you kidding?? Do you even remember you are expected to be in Mr. Malhotra's party?
Virat- party?(he rethinks for a moment and everything falls into place) oo ya. I will be there .
Virat hurries out of the study room and finds Manvi sitting at the door, he completely ignored her condition and leaves for his room murmuring.. "we need to be in the party. Get ready soon."
Manvi was just shocked how could he behave so normally after all the outburst but decided to let it go for the moment.. She didn't want to go with him, not now but couldn't even master up the courage to say a no.. On the other hand Virat prayed inwardly that she shouldn't refuse to go, he knew he was wrong in his behaviour, but he didn't had the idea of how to pacify a girl. He never had a girlfriend, he never wanted one... Girls always drooled over him but he remained the cool ignorant one.. Priya was the only one who was a good friend but from his side always just a good friend, although Priya had some soft feelings for him and that was another reason he wanted to take Manvi along with him in the party. He was now in a relationship and he didn't want any confusion in it. He didn't know how this girl Manvi meant so much for him, he just knew he didn't want to loose her. Her presence gave him a fresh new air and he felt like having that air until his last breath.
The car stopped near a big event hall and Virat Manvi entered the party. They walked together but later split into different corners as Virat got engaged with business discussions and Manvi was standing idol trying to make herself busy in something or the other when suddenly she was shocked with a very known voice.
??- I really pity you silly girl... You are still lying as a showpiece. Mai jaise rakhta tumhe tumhare sudden pati ne v waise hi rakha hai tumge.. Just a showpiece.. How sorryyy.. Tuch tuch..
Manvi looked around to confirm her doubt and yes she was right it was Mohit..
Manvi- aap..
He moved closer to her and she started taking steps backwards. Her back touched the wall and she couldn't move anymore. Mohit moved closer to her. She was scared,confused, restless what not. She just wanted to get vanished.
Mohit- kehna padega you look beautiful (he checks her out again from head to toe) nai not just beautiful you are gorgeous, sexy, hot (he moves more closer to her). I just can't keep away from you.
Saying so he pulled her by the waist, Manvi felt disgusted and she slapped him hard on face bringing a total silence on the party. When Virat looks at the source of the sound he gets the shock of his life... Why did she slap a man out of nowhere??
He made his way through the confused peoples mouthing excuses and reaching Manvi he pulled her in a corner, Mohit followed them with an evil smirk.
Virat- Manvi what's wrong??? Kaun tha wo??
Mohit- let me take the pain to introduce myself Mr. Vadera.
Virat turns to the source of sound. He gives a questioning look to Mohit.
Mohit- Myself Mohit Khurana, Manvi's fiancée.
He speaks with an evil smirk.
Virat- ex...
Virat corrects him keeping a straight face.
Mohit- Not actually Mr. See she still has the engagement ring...
Manvi looks all shocked as she realised she have not parted with it until now... She cursed herself at the thought that how could she not remember of taking it out. She slowly looked at Virat and saw him staring at her angrily and hurt.. Hurting him was the last thing she would want. Mohit meant nothing to her not now not ever.
Mohit- how sweet of you darling. Am impressed baby.
He moved towards her but was stopped by Virat as he comes forward.
Virat - stay away.
He pulls Manvi with him.
Virat - lets go.
Manvi didn't have any strength in her to defend herself she just followed him. Priya on the other hand was more than shocked on seeing Virat leave all of a sudden. She rushed towards him.
Priya- where are you going Virat ? Do you even realise how important is this?
She speaks glaring angrily at Manvi. Priya couldn't understand what's up with this girl, and moreover what's wrong with Virat. He married this girl overnight and now leaving such an important official gathering after the whole fiasco this Manvi created.
Virat - Priya please manage it for me. I need to leave.
