Die or Live

My eyes closed as the strong wind whipped through my hair. Did I just jump? It was as if everything went in utter slow motion. My legs we in a weird bend, and my arms were up in the air, like my body. I felt the jump start to go down. This is it. This is how I die. But then again, I would've died if I stayed up there with that wretched witch. Die fast or slow?

My dress flew up, causing my arms to lazily pull it down. I closed my eyes and tilted my head up.

'Dear mum and dad, please explain why you had to go and leave me, I know you can't but I just want to know what really happened with you. Be ready with this answer when you see me, when we are all dead deceased whatever. I miss you and I love you.', my thoughts were bombarded when I saw a shadow covering me. I opened my eyes and looked up and I saw a boy.....on a dragon? Dragons don't exist! 'What the heck?' I exclaimed, squinting to see the face of the boy.

He looked down at me, and shouted in a thick English accent, 'Listen, I know you don't know me, but if you grab ahold of my hand, your life will be saved and you can get to know who I am!'

The dragon was going down with me.

'But-'

'No buts, do you want to die or live?'

I grabbed his hand and let him place me on the dragon.

'Put your hands around me, we have to go.'

I didn't feel comfortable placing my hands around a boy my age I did not know, but if it meant life or death....

I placed my hands around him and my head on his shoulders.

'I'm Alex, Alex Rider.'

'Hailee, and I'm 17.

'I'm 17 too.' I spotted a smile on his face.

'So um, may I ask, why am I trusting you and riding on a green dragon?'

'Haha, that's funny because this isn't a dragon.'

'Then what is it?'

'Well it's a robot dragon that is really quite cool. It's not mine, I found it somewhere when I was hiki- that's not the point. I had to save you.'

'Why would you go to so much trouble to save someone?'

'A little gesture can save someone's life you know. On the contrary, what would you do if you saw someone about to die right in front of your very eyes? Leave them to die or help?'

This was a rhetorical question. 'You are right, I would do the same. So where are we going?'

'My home, don't ask anymore questions, the wind increases up these trees.'

'Ok,' I sighed and leaned my head on his back. He was stunning, brown eyes and blonde hair with brown  highlights. Maybe I could trust him. Maybe he is like Sheyla. Maybe he will take me to Sheyla? How do I thank someone for saving my life and then face them with another adventure that mainly benefits me? I don't want to be snobby or rude. Favour for favour, right?
