The Rajput house was full of activity.
It was the day before Holi, and a big pooja had been arranged. Staff members were decorating the courtyard, flowers were being arranged everywhere, and relatives and business partners were expected to arrive soon.
Inside their room, Rooh was finishing getting ready.
She wore a soft pastel saree, her hair loosely curled, small earrings swaying as she adjusted her bangles.
When she looked up into the mirror—
She noticed him.
Vihaan was leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed, watching her quietly.
Not blinking.
Rooh met his gaze through the mirror and smiled faintly.
“Don’t you have any work?” she asked.
Vihaan tilted his head slightly.
“Which work,” he replied calmly, “is more important than admiring my rose?”
Rooh turned around, amused.
“Vihaan,” she chuckled softly, “why do you always call me rose?”
He opened his mouth to answer—then paused.
For a moment he looked thoughtful.
Almost surprised.
He realized something.
He had never actually told her.
He walked toward her slowly.
“Come here,” he said gently.
She sat on the edge of the bed as he motioned.
He sat beside her.
“Do you remember where we first met?” he asked.
Rooh nodded immediately.
“At my home,” she said confidently.
Vihaan shook his head.
“No.”
She frowned slightly.
“Then where?”
“At Sharma’s wedding,” he said.
She blinked.
“You collided with me near the entrance,” he continued, smiling slightly at the memory. “You were wearing a red anarkali.”
Her eyes widened a little as she tried to recall.
“You were carrying red roses,” he added softly.
“And you smelled like them.”
Rooh slowly covered her mouth with her palm.
“Ohhh…”
The memory clicked.
“Now I remember,” she said, laughing lightly. “You were talking on the phone!”
He nodded.
“You didn’t even look properly,” he said teasingly. “You just said sorry and ran away.”
She laughed again.
“And you noticed all that?”
“Of course.”
His voice softened slightly.
“You could say it was love at first sight.”
Rooh looked at him with surprise.
