Chapter 4 (Lucas' POV)

Chapter 4 

Lucas

I was completely outraged with Drew. He freaking manipulated Adriana's thoughts! Now here she was saying 'let's live a little.' And Drew was just as smug as could be.

I had no choice, but to follow them to make sure Adriana was safe. Before I closed the door behind me I muttered under my breath "Live a little, right." In a sarcastic tone I might add.

I quickly ran after Drew and Adriana as they got into my car. I hopped in the passenger seat to keep Adriana as far from Drew as possible, in her condition.

Drew seemed displeased with my motion as he revved up the engine. I was still unsure of where we were going. "Where is this party at?"

"It's a hot place in town. My favorite night scene. Club Fang." His smile showed off his fangs as he sped down the road.

"Please don't tell me we're going to a vampire club." I was getting really nervous now. As if one vampire wasn't bad enough. Now we're heading to a whole club full of them!

We pulled up to a corner of an ally, where a sign lit up neon red 'Club Fang'. It was about 9:30 when we entered the club so it was pretty packed.

I held my arm around Adriana as Drew was greeting several other people. You could see that most of the people were vampires. Then there was the occasional human. Though they weren't in a state of fear. I assumed their minds had been tampered with as well. And most likely, they were on the menu tonight.

Drew guided us over to a white couch, where several beautiful women stood. "Ladies, these are my guests tonight. Show them some hospitality." Drew walked off to talk to other vampires and left us alone with these women.

"Mmm, teenagers." I heard one of them say.

"My favorite drink." Another one said and they all began laughing. They were obviously vampires. Adriana was still under Drew's spell or whatever. "What do they mean?" She still had her will power, but she wasn't fully aware of what was going on.

I quickly grabbed Adriana's hand. "Okay, we're out of here." As we stood to leave, Drew came up and gently pushed us back down in our seats. "Oh, come on now. The party's just getting started."

He then gave us some drink glasses filled with a red liquid and sat down next to us on the couch. Adriana gladly took the drink. I felt my stomach get queazy as I put the glass away from my mouth.

"Please don't tell me this is what I think it is."

Drew smiled as he and all of his 'ladies' took a sip of the red liquid.

"It's a Bloody Mary. Extra virgin." They all laughed and then I looked to Adriana as she took another sip of the drink.

"Mmm, it makes me feel warm all over."

"Oh great, now you're melting her mind."

"No, kid, that's what you're gonna do." He handed his drink to the girl beside him on the couch.

"Excuse me?" I was a little confused by what Drew was saying.

"Look, now's your chance. Make a move!"

"I am not going to take advantage of her in this state! I don't want her like this."

"But she wants you. Now just start off by giving her a compliment. For example, I like the nape of your neck." He said as he caressed the vampires' neck to his right.

"Would you give it a rest!"

"Look, kid. If you don't make a move now, she's gonna feel rejected. Again."

I hated to admit it, but Drew was right. I'd already rejected her once. If I kept rejecting her, she'd end up leaving me.

"You're right. Maybe if I just focus, I can control myself."

"Or, if you slip, she'll let out a blood curdling scream." He and his 'ladies' laughed at that, though it horrified me.

"Just lay a big wet one on her already."

"Are you sure?"

"Go for it kid."

I stood up and took Adriana's hand. I walked us over to an empty area so we could have some kind of privacy.

"Where are we going?" Adriana asked.

"Look, we have to get out of here." I took her by the hands as I said this. All I was worried about was getting her somewhere safe.

"Did you bring me here to kiss me?" She said with a sheepish smile like a school girl.

"Now isn't the time for that. We're in serious danger-"

"What? More soar throats." She mumbled defensively as she turned around and dropped my hands from hers.

"No, Adriana. You have no idea how much I care about you." I placed my hand on her forearm and slid it down to her hand again.

"Then show me."

As the words left her mouth I leaned in for a kiss. But then I felt myself losing control again. My fangs popped out and I came so close to her neck. I pulled back again.

"Ughh!" She growled in frustration. "What is it Lucas? Is it me?"

"No Adriana, it's me."

"We'll stop leading me on! It's killing me!"

"Adriana, you don't understand!"

She walked to a seat across the room and sat down. The look on her face pained me. She was hurt again.

Drew came over to me and began to walk me back to the couch.

"Hey, don't let this stop you kid. Here, let me introduce you to my ladies."

He pointed to each girl saying her name and a snide remark about each one. The one that stood out most was Luna. She was a luminescent pale with long, wavy black hair that had red streaks in it. Her lips matched the red in her hair. She had beautiful dark brown eyes.

"Luna is my number one." Drew smiled as he put his arm around her waist and kissed her lightly on the lips. She smiled back and playfully nipped at him with her fangs.

"Girls, why don't you show Lucas a good time." He winked at them and walked out of site.

I wasn't sure what was going on. But before I could protest I felt a few girls pulling me out to the dance floor. Next thing I know, I'm surrounded by 7 vampire girls that had me circled into a dance cage.

"Umm, girls. This isn't necessary." My protests were futile. I wasn't getting out that easy.

Then something caught me eye. Drew was dancing with Adriana!!! My rage began to build. I could feel my hands ball up into tight fists. Before I could do anything I saw Drew lean Adriana's neck back and move in for the bite.

I ripped through the wall of girls and sprinted through the crowd on the dance floor. As soon as I was within reach of Drew I threw him off of Adriana and punched him square in the mouth, knocking him to his feet.
