Chapter 3

Drew

I don't know what the kids' problem was. I was only trying to give him some advice. Maybe not the best advice, but in this world it's kill or be killed.

I didn't want to admit it, but an eternity is a long time. Being a vampire can be really lonely. its also very boring. But messing with this kid and his girl friend could be the highlight of my life.

I was talking with Lucas, but then I smelled her. Her blood smelled like honey suckles in full bloom. The scent was so intoxicating that it took every ounce of my strength to not break down the door and rip into her throat.

She called for Lucas and he was eagerly trying to get me to leave. I wasn't about to miss this. I gestured for him to let her in and, after he stopped being stubborn, he finally opened the door.

I paused for a moment to take in her sheer, raw beauty. Her scent was almost overwhelming. Her lovely, tender skin was glowing with a radiance similar to the moon. Her eyes, like priceless sapphires. And her lips, so full and kissable. She's lucky that I'm older and have more control than most vampires.

She immediately turned to Lucas and didn't even see me. "Lucas, I've been so worried about you. Is everything okay?" He had a look of worry on his face, but reassured her. "Everything's fine-"

Being the gentleman I was, I walked over and took Adriana's hand in mine and kissed it lightly. "Who's you're friend Lucas?" Adriana asked quizzically. Lucas looked at me with a protective stare. "Oh him? He's no one."

I smirked at him and turned back to Adriana. "Now, Lucas. No need to be rude. I'm Drew. Drew Knight." I kissed her hand again and continued kissing up her forearm. Lucas didn't seem too happy with that, which made me smile even more. He quickly pulled Adriana away from me. "Leave Adriana alone Drew." Adriana looked at us both in confusion. "What's going on here?" She questioned.

I decided to make things a little more interesting. "We were just about to go to a party." She looked at me strangely and then back to Lucas. "But, Lucas, you hate parties."

I looked into her eyes and felt mine glow red around the edges as I infiltrated her thoughts. "Oh, but a party would be fun. Don't you want to go?" I smiled at the delicious feeling of bending her mind to my will. "Yes, a party does sound fun." Adriana said in a state similar to being drugged.

Lucas must've realized something was wrong. "Hey! What are you doing to her?!"

"Relax, I'm just helping her make up her mind." I gave Lucas a wide grin and made my way towards the door.

"She doesn't need any help making up her mind."

"Oh, come on Lucas. Lets go live a little." Adriana smiled and went out the door.

"Yeah, Lucas. Let's live a little."

I could not have been more pleased with the way things were going. As long as the kid doesn't get any ideas or try any of his powers, I should be fine.

I proceeded to follow Adriana out the door, knowing Lucas wouldn't be far behind. Tonight was beginning to be the most fun I've had in a while. And I'm only getting started.
