My alarm rudely woke me and I slapped my hand down on the stop button.
Another day of school.
To be honest the constant conversation and queue of people wanting to speak to me was tiring to say the least. Don't forget boring too. All they wanted was to invite me out places but I enjoyed nothing more than lying in bed.
My friends of course preferred the party lifestyle and I found myself dragged along with that sometimes.
I got showered and dressed, deciding to mix things up today by wearing a dark red snapback over my quiff.
I typed a quick message on my phone to MC182
SwallowDaGoldfish: Good Morning :)
I hugged my mum goodbye and left the house, my face lighting up when my phone buzzed, despite the cold.
MC182: No it's not.
SwallowDaGoldfish: Why?
MC182: School= hell
I chuckled to myself lightly, crossing the road.
SwallowDaGoldfish: Tell me about it.
MC182: I just wish I could go to sleep and never wake up
I felt my heart pull a little.
SwallowDaGoldfish: Don't talk like that
MC182: You don't even know me,
SwallowDaGoldfish: And you don't know me, what's your point?
MC182: You'd agree with me if you knew me.
I reached school soon and realised how early I was, there was nobody about - literally no one.
I huffed and sat on a bench, staring down at the last message MC sent me.
Why would he think that way? He must be really sad.
Suddenly a familiar head of bright red and dark brown hair caught my eye as I looked over to a wall, I saw him slumped on the floor, staring down at the phone between his black sweater paws.
I never knew who this kid was, I remembered him from the end of school the other day but that was it. I raised an eyebrow at him as he looked over at me. I waved happily but he just stared back down to his phone. His eyes looked dead against his pale skin and he didn't look the slightest bit bothered about my presence.
It confused me. Usually if anyone were to see me alone like this they would jump at the chance to be the only one with my attention. What was with this guy? I frowned when seeing him still sniffling, subtly wiping his eyes with a small tissue every now and then.
I stood up and walked over to him silently. As soon as I got quite close he noticed me and looked at me wide eyed. I stood above him.
"I'm sorry... I just saw you upset the other day and- were you okay?" I asked.
"I was fine." He muttered, looking ungrateful for my concern. I sighed.
"You were crying a minute ago." I pointed out.
"No I wasn't." He dismissed quietly, staring at his screen again.
"Yes you were!" I growled and he glared back up.
"What does it matter to you, Prince?" he scoffed.
"It does matter." I mumbled, slightly hurt by the sarcastic nickname.
"It only matters now because you're bored. Your friends are here." He deadpanned, fluffing up his hair and smoothing down his fringe. I sighed and walked away from him.
I could get him beaten up for talking to me like that no problem, but for some reason I didn't want to do that to him, not if he was already upset.
"Dude!" Calum called me over to him and the group of lads.
"Who were you talking to?" He questioned quietly so no one else could hear as he looked in the rude boy's direction.
"Nobody," I shrugged. "It's nothing."
"Okay." He dismissed it, not wanting to upset me. I hated how I always got what I wanted.
I tried to concentrate in maths but all I could think about was the boy from earlier. It was such a change- rejection. I wasn't sure I liked the rejection itself, just how new it was.
I didn't know his name but I was determined to find out.
