Emily's POV
I left Claire behind shocked that there is no girls soccer team. I makes my way to the girls locker room. I put on my cleats, shingaurds, and my hair tie agressivly. I slams my locker and grab my soccer ball and water and take off toward the field.
I was going to tryout for the boys soccer team. As I approached the field I heard and saw smirks, laughs, and snickers all based on me as I first step foot on the field. Hearing that made me more mad and that I needed to show these boys up.
"Hey look a girl thinks she can make it." Someone said.
"I bet she won't make it." Someone laughed.
I just walked right past them and put my stuff down. I started juggling the ball silently to prove to them I had some skill.
"Look at this guys." Some kid said. He got in my way and just poked the ball off my rhythm.
"Good one Marty," one said. I just picked up my with.
"If that isn't enough I'll show them."
I started juggling faster and when I got the ball just at my waist level I did a circle around the ball with my foot and caught it with the other. I caught the ball and settled it down to the ground.
I looked at Marty and he was shocked then his face went into a "wow I can do better than that" Look.
"Hey boys come in, come in." The coach said.
"Oh, look what we have here a girl? Excuse me but are you trying out for the team?" The coach smirked.
"Yes coach I am actually." I said holding my ground. Waiting for a nasty reply.
To my surprise the coach said, "Hi I'm coach Buck please to meet you and your name is?"
"Emily, my name is Emily. I have played soccer ever since I was five and I'm one of the region one players in the state for girls." I responded proudly. Still hearing little snickers and laughs, I kept my cool.
"Nice to meet you Emily. Now let's get to business boys. *pause* And um... girl. Today is the time you show off your skills because it is now or nothing. Tomorrow there is no second tryouts it is just today so show me some hard work and pride for 3 hours. Now get in a Circle and Kenny warm them up." Coach Buck chanted.
"Alright guys and girl get in a Circle. First stretch is calves stretch." Kenny said.
