[Vicki's POV]
He wasn't paying attention...
This kid had potential I could see it.
But he didn't try... I wanted him to try.
I wanted this to work. He's all I had.
Jake looked over at me. He could tell I was hurt, "I'm sorry..." He said softly.
[Jake's POV]
I was staring into Vicki's eyes. I could stay like this forever... But I felt a tap on my shoulder. Someone behind me was tapping me. I looked, it was a taller, blonde, blue-eyed girl, "Hey there. I'm Alicia." I raised an eyebrow at her comment. She was flirting with me. Great. "NO WHISPERING!" Then the bell rang. Finally. I walked down the hallway, looking at the drawings and paintings hanging out on the walls. I came to a door, opened it and walked into a room filled with middle schoolers. And noise. Lots of noise. I saw an empty table and sat there. If people wanted to sit with me, they'd sit with me and I'd be surprised, if I sat with someone they'd scream at me and I'd be hurt. Vicki sat beside me. Then that girl from class sat in front of me. "Who's this, Jakey?" Said the girl. "Jakey?" Vicki was not amused. To be honest, neither was I. Vicki grabbed my hand, instantly making me blush, "Jakey is my friend." Alicia scowled at me, "Well then maybe he shouldn't be." I stiffened up. Stuff was going down. "What about it Jakey?" Alicia was trying to get on my nerves. I could tell. Vicki looked at me, hurt. "J-Jake?" She stuttered. I frowned. Vicki was still holding my hand. "Vicki is my friend." Alicia scuffed, and walked off. Vicki looked at our hands, "So you like holding my hand." I said. She blushed, it was cute when she blushed, "Y-you started it!" It was cute when he stuttered... She was cute.... "Well then I'm glad I started it..." Vicki blushed again, she does that a lot. I touched my nose to hers. "Why can't the world just leave you alone..." She closed her eyes, "Us. Leave us alone."
[Vicki's POV]
I didn't know what to do, our noses were touching... I just said us... GAHH. He was so amazing. So tender-hearted and kind to me. Like no one else had been. He stood there with me and not against me. He was my friend, and friends were something I didn't have many of. But I'd rather have one friend rather than a bunch of distant ones. Too many things were happening... School had just started yesterday, and look at me touching noses with this... Guy.
