Rain woke up and suddenly thought of the text she got the day before, on Sunday.

*Flashback*

Rain heard her phone ring, notifying her of a new text. She took and phone and frowned at the text. It was from Mellie. Mellie was one of her "best friends". The one that actually hated her. She never texted Rain.

Rain opened the text.

Mellie: Hello Rain.

Rain: Um, hi :) Listen I g2g, sowie.

It was true, Rain had to go help her mom with the groceries. After she was done, she texted Mellie.

Rain: Hey I'm back. Sup?

She wasn't really surprised by the reply.

Mellie: DON'T YOU FUCKING TEXT ME BITCH YOU ARE WORTHLESS JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE A PHONE DOESN'T MAKE YOU COOL OKAY YOU ARE ALONER ME AND JASMINE HATE YOU. AND LEAVE SOPHIA ALONE SHE IS A GOOD GIRL AND DOESN'T NEED TO BE RUINED BY YOUR BITCHINESS GO HANG OUT WITH TANIA ON MONDAY UNDERSTAND DON'T YOU EVEN FUCKING REPLY TO THIS TEXT.

Rain leaned against the wall and took deep breaths. Mellie may insult Rain, but Rain would never stoop as low as her. But still it took her a lot of will power not to say anything back, or to tell Mellie that "a loner" is spelled "a loner", not aloner, and to tell her that Jasmine- her other best friend- thinks Mellie is an asshole, and that SHE is the one ruining Sophie, there friend, and that Mellie has no right to tell Rain to hang out with Tanya. Tanya was a nice girl, but she was too nosy and clingy.

All in all, Rain didn't want to go to on Monday.

But she decided that she'd delete the text and pretend this never happened.

But she still just wanted to curl up under her covers with a book and music.

*Flashback Over*

I don't wanna go to school..... She thought. She tried to think of ways to not go to school.

1) Pretend to be sick. (It worked before)

2) Skip school.

Then she remembered Danielle. Maybe if she hung out with Danielle all day...... But what if Mellie took her away and like, hypnotized her into hating Rain or something? Sighing, Rain noticed one of her small tattoos. It was on her inside forearm.

"Take Chances." It read. Sighing again, Rain swung her feet off her bed. That's exactly what she was going to do. Take chances.

Rain groggily finished eating her breakfast and brushed her teeth again. Then she took her bag and headed out.

"Bye!" She called.

"Bye sweetie!" Her mother called back.

Rain look over in the direction of Danielle's house and saw that Danielle was already walking over to her. She was dressed in black skinny jeans, red Converses, and a tee shirt that had a big peace sign on it with a grey jacket. Her brown hair was curly as before. She wore little makeup, just a little lip gloss and mascara.

"Hey." Danielle greeted.

"Hi! How's it going?" Rain asked.

"Pretty good. Can I come with you?" She responded.

Rain raises her eyebrows. "Of course. Duh! Do you wanna take the bus or walk?" Say walk. Say walk. Say walk. Rain silently prayed.

"Hmm... You know what, lets walk. I'll get to know the neighbourhood better."
