I awoke to the smell of wood...

burning. I remembered the monsters. I opened my eyes. Flames, flames everywhere. The building was in flames, the town, me, everything. My vision cleared, and I saw I was in front of a fire place. I looked around and realized every thing was quite not in havoc.

A young girl, maybe slightly older than me entered the room. She had smooth black hair which hung loose down to just below her shoulder. She had hazel eyes to compliment her hair. She wore a loose white shirt with small purposeful wrinkles. It was a nice enough shirt to wear in public, but casual enough to wear for any other use. She had simple black crop pants on, and a slight spring in her step. I immediately felt some interesting feelings, but with one thought of Clare, they scattered and scuttled away.

"Eliza, names Eliza. What's yours? I've been taking care of you, my older sister said to. My older brother is a guard, he was the one that found you. Want some food? I'll eat with you!" She immediately monologued.

"Umm sure," I said distractedly.

"Cool! I'll go get the sandwiches," she said immediately.

"Oh, by the way, you can call me Silver," I said remembering her original question.

She nodded to let me know she had heard me. In only about five minutes she was back with a shiny tray with four sandwiches on it, as well as two refreshing looking drinks. There was also some fruit, some kind of cooking oil, bread on the side, and olive oil.

I gobbled one sandwich down immediately, then washed it down with the drink. Sputtering I looked down at the drink, and realized it was fizzy.

"We call it bubbled cordial, don't worry, don't drink it fast," she said in between hysterical fits of laughter.

"Well thanks for the advise!" I said cheerfully, then added, disguised by coughs, "A bit to late!"

"Oh! I see how it is, Silver! I take care of your unconscious, ungrateful, butt for two whole days-not to mention that injury of yours, and that you randomly screamed and hit in your sleep! Do you know how many times I got hit in the face!?!" She retorted.

"Oh I'm so sorry, how many times did I-"

"None silly, I'm not stupid," she said cutting me off with a silly grin plastered across her face. Then her whole speech registered.

"I'VE BEEN UNCONSCIOUS FOR TWO DAYS!?!?!?" I practically screamed.

"Well yeah, but nothing really happened..." she said uncertainty.

"Any one know what happened to all those monsters?" I asked, simply wondering.

"Not really- I mean, they attack every night now, and often during the day... but they haven't done to much damage. They only broke through our defenses in one place, and we quickly surrounded that area. So every thing is relatively normal," she explained to me.

I groaned when I realized what I had brought to the town. "I got to help them! Help fight! Where are my weapons?" I groaned again, nothing I had brought was with me.

Eliza pointed to a small bundle of everything I owned sitting in the corner. I was up in seconds, rushing for my things, maybe a little too eager to fight. I was about half way across the room, I stopped and gasped with pain. My back wound was flaming needles being repeatedly stabbed into my back. Then my leg gave out. As I started to fall, Eliza was suddenly supporting me. Pushing me gently back to the ground.

"You mustn't move, you are not wholly rested and healed!" She said in concern.

"Well how long until I am better, huh?" I snapped. She recoiled as if hit, and her face visibly fell as my words wounded her soul. "I'm sorry, I haven't been grateful enough to you, you have been taking care of me after all. Please forgive me, I just feel bad that I led all these monsters onto this town," I rushed apologetically.
