A/N: Hey! This chapter is a little longer and I finally made them into smaller paragraphs so you don't have to just read giant walls of text! Enjoy~
~Natalie's POV~
I carried the tray of drinks towards the booth while wearing a small smirk and walking with perky steps. Back in the kitchen Tasha helped me devise a little way to mess with the group.
As I reached the table I set down the tray and it was obvious one of the drinks stood out amongst the others. In the center of the tray sat a perfect-looking chocolate milkshake topped with blindingly white whipped cream, a glistening chocolate drizzle, a scattering of sprinkles, and of course the bright red maraschino cherry.
I closely examined each face trying to read what they were thinking. I mostly read confused and desirous looks. I shifted my weight on my feet as I tried to hide my mischievous smile for a moment longer until someone asked about it, which knowing these people shouldn't be long.
After about 10 seconds Mike was obviously the first to blurt out. "Who's that for?" He asked, in a bewildered tone. My mischievous smile escaped. I took my time answering, knowing how desperate he was for an answer. I could tell he was praying for the slightest chance that it was his. "Funny you should ask Mike." I said, my smile growing even more mischievous. I handed out the other drinks, but everyone seemed to have lost interest in them completely.
I stood up a little taller to make my announcement. "This milkshake is the grand prize of whoever can compliment me the best." I said, ending it with a small giggle. Stuff like this wasn't normal for us at all, which made it that much more entertaining.
I watched as Mike and Kyle's faces matched. They both knitted their dark brows and frowned. They just realized that the chance of getting their hands on that milkshake went down miraculously. Next my eyes slowly moved towards Jake.
I was expecting to see a somewhat similar look to the other's faces, but I was surprised when he shot an unreadable look at Devon. I crinkled my nose in confusion before my eyes moved to Devon, whose eyes widened as he returned Jake's look with a threatening glare. What was going on? Is this too weird? I bit my lip and turned bright pink before shifting my eyes away.
I was about to make a silly comment to Syd before I realized she was passed out against Jake. Are you kidding me? She left me with all these guys? I let out an unnoticeably small annoyed sigh.
Well. This was about to get incredibly awkward...
~Devon's POV~
After Natalie had announced her little "game" my eyes widened and I looked down in an attempt to hide any panic I was showing. My eyes lifted for just a split-second to catch Jake's look. I knew exactly what it meant.
This was my chance to try to get a date with her.
I returned Jake's look with an intimidating glare, he better fucking not pull anything, or I swear... But then I felt a sudden wave of confidence crash over me. Was it the alcohol? Probably, but I couldn't care less. I mean, really? Why was I acting so childish about this? I am 18 for god's sake... I shouldn't be acting like a middle-schooler about this.
I sat up a little straighter and cleared my throat. I was no longer hiding by any means. I grew a determined look on my face.
I am going to win that damn milkshake, and I am going to get a date with that incredible girl.
I sat back for a moment to see if anyone would speak up. I noticed Natalie growing nervous, I just wanted to blurt out everything on my mind but I know I couldn't. I had to wait. I mean really, why is no one spewing out compliments? There are millions of amazing things that could be said about her.
