Aya didn't mean to drink on the job but she did. It's stressful to work at a dance club where animals called men couldn't keep their hands to themselves and customers would get irate if their drinks weren't served in under a minute. While it was a stupid mistake, a shot of rum made her job a little more tolerable.

But because of her addled mind and sleep deprived state she accidentally took the wrong bus and ended up at Sunnyvale court. It's one am in the morning and she needs to get back home.

If you can call hell a home.

"Way to go Aya." She berates herself as she leans against the bus stop pole for support as she slides her heels off. They were killing her. "Now I have to wait for the morning bus." She mumbles to herself as she hoists her backpack onto her shoulder after switching her pumps out for sensible black sneakers. She also took out her purple sweatshirt to wear over her short dress and matching thigh high socks.

Which is hard to do when you're tipsy. She felt like the leaning tower of Pisa when she struggled to put on her socks minutes ago.

Sighing, Aya steps away from the lit up bus stop to walk into the empty street. The neighborhood is dark and quiet. Nobody stirred and Aya takes a moment to appreciate it. Looking up into the sky to see the stars above shining brightly. Then one of them cut through the sky, falling away into the night.

"Wishes are bullshit." Aya thinks lowering her head. Stumbling forward she peers around for someplace to sleep for awhile, at least until the next bus. Then lo and behold, she sees a house nearby in the middle of construction. The planks of wood and the port-a-potty in the front yard being a tell tale sign.

Before she could even step a foot in its direction, she sees the front door of someone's home opening and closing with a squeak. A boy steps out, the dimly lit street lamp a couple steps ahead did little to provide a clear visual on him.

Aya wobbles back deeper into the shadows, grateful that her clothes would help her blend in well. Her eyes never left the boy and when he glances her way her heart froze.

It wasn't fear that gripped her but astonishment. The stranger has gorgeous green eyes that's made all the more striking against the backdrop of midnight.

The urge to kiss somebody has never been this strong till now. Aya even surprises herself when she takes a step forward. Luckily by then the boy had turned his focus to his dog.

"Really Aya? Chill." She snaps herself out of his magnetic pull by pinching her cheeks. Feeling the blood rush to her face she, despite trying not to, finds herself looking at the boy again. Watching him grin as he scratches behind his pets ear.

She doesn't miss the downward curve of his lips as he glances in the direction opposite to her. How the dog whines for his attention because he stopped scratching its favorite spot. She sure as hell didn't miss the moment when he whispers something to the dog and how he releases the ball of fluff from its lead. The speedy hound taking off to tackle someone in the distance that she didn't even notice.

The stranger went down hard and Aya winces in sympathy. "Ooh that's gonna bruise." Aya whispers to herself as she subconsciously touches her own. The latest one, five splotches of reddish purple, on the undersides of her right arm. Given to her by the person she despises most.

Aya's fist clenches at the thought of her. She badly wanted to hit something right now, but there weren't any punching bags around. She did the next best thing that helps calm her down. Singing.

Quietly, softly, she starts to let her anger slip away with the lyrics. The hand at her side unfurling minutes later. Now that she has her attention back on the two people ahead she can tell that the other one is a girl. By her petite frame, dirty blonde hair, and her eyes...her eyes hinted at something familiar.

Maybe its the alcohol messing with her head or a strange sense of maternal instinct, but Aya really wants to take this girl and run off. Away from all the shit this world has to offer.

Upon closer inspection the blonde has a backpack. It seemed she was going to runway herself. If Aya wasn't so drunk, she would've turned her thoughts into reality.

"Maybe next time..." She mumbles taking the opportunity to sneak into the abandoned house for the night. Aya went straight for the backdoor knowing it would be unlocked. It isn't her first time crashing at a house like this, and probably won't be her last either.

Quietly she shuts the door behind her. Maneuvering around debris, wood planks, and opened cans of paint to settle down in a corner of the living room. At least Aya thinks that's what the area is suppose to be.

Taking one last look outside she sees the girl and boy enter his house. Aya quirks up an eyebrow at that, but a suggestive smirk tugs at her lips.

"You go get him girl." Aya yawns laying her head back on her bag as she slowly drifts off to sleep. Hoping that nobody at Hell's household would notice her gone.

•••••••••

The next morning Aya's woken up with the sounds of deep voices and the loud vroom of an engine.

"Shit. It's the construction workers." Aya sits up quickly and scrambles to grab her bag. Quickly she makes haste toward the back door to see the handle turning.

"Man did you see the game last night!" A burly guy shouts to the others standing out front as he enters the house. Stopping when he sees something before him. "Damn squirrels got into the paint again." He walks forward to a tipped paint bucket.

Not at all noticing the girl hiding in the crack between the door and the wall.

Tip toeing out of her spot she eyes the man's butt with a look of approval before leaving. Crossing the street she reaches the bus stop just in time for the next ride to pull up. As the doors hiss open Aya has her bus pass out and a wad of gum in her mouth. The spearmint clearing away any booze breath she had. The bus driver announces the first stop is to be Charleston Mall.

Boarding the bus she sees a pack of boys occupying the back seats. She inwardly groans when she notices Greg and his goons. They were cat calling her and making an ass out of themselves. At least they didn't recognize her which she was thankful for. Staying invisible at Ashley Waters high school is proving to be worth the trouble.

There were times, many times, when Aya wanted nothing more than to break her vow of silence to kick a couple of asses. The school is one of the worst in the district and she's pretty sure something's up with the faculty. Especially the Principal and Vice Principal.

Aya's face warps into one of disgust when Mr.McCoy popped into her head. Something about him is off and Aya tries to steer clear of the front office as much as she can. Taking a seat in the front she can practically feel Greg undressing her with his eyes.

"Think of bunnies and puppies Aya. Bunnies and puppies." She repeats it to herself as she gazes out the window. Her reflection staring back at her with blue eyes and dirty blon-

"Holy shit." Aya whispers, her eyes going wide at the same time as the other girl's did. The one she saw last night.

That other girl was none other than Sang Sorenson. Who's staring back at the girl in the bus with the jet black hair and grey eyes. The eyes Sang mistook for her own.

Aya wanted a closer look at the girl, but she pulls away from the window when someone in the front made a comment. The silver vehicle pulling ahead of the bus and Aya helplessly watches it leave.

Never did she think that there's someone out there looking as broken as she is.
