Chapter 8

She sat down next to a man and focused her eyes on his face, but it was all a blur. She suddenly got a weird feeling in her mind and stomach and the next thing she knows they are talking as if they are family. She kept asking who are you but was as if he did not hear her and kept on talking. She really started to be more confused and turned around on the chair and saw they were sitting in the couch in her home. She tried to focus her eyes again but still a blur. All of the sudden a loud gunshot went off and she screamed but she heard nothing came out. She looked up and saw a black figure still staring at her. She went down and turned the man around and his face was then more clear than ever.

“George!” She kept screaming but no sound, she shook him and shook him but his eyes closed. She felt pain taking over her body and she screamed more of sadness and the pain. Her throat swelled and she tried to swallow but nothing, the warm tears went down her cheeks and fell on George’s face. She looked up at the killer and it was pointing the gun at her, and pulled the trigger…

Elise gasped when she woke up. Her eyes were watering and her forehead was covered in sweat. She breathed heavily of how scared she was and then felt a hand touching her shoulder. She grabbed the hand and twisted it in self-defense until she heard screaming, and realized it was Kristen: “Oh my hand! Pain!”

Elise immediately let go and turned the bed light on.

“Sorry, what are you doing?” She focused her eyes with the brightness.

“Dude I couldn’t sleep with all of that screaming and loud mumbling. I thought you were getting an heart attack! Well something like that? I’ve never seen anyone getting a heart attack, nor do I know what happens to them? I should just stop talking.” Kristen frowned at herself. Elise gave a slight giggle and said: “Had a nightmare. And in my dream I screamed a lot, but heard nothing? Probably because it was heard in reality.”

“If it was about zombies and vampires taking over the world, you and I had the same nightmare.” Kristen’s eyes stretched.

“No? Why would I dream that. Sadly mine was more realistic.” Elise pulled her knees to her chest and pressed her lips against it.

“Last time you told me that it was about your mother in a plane crash, but she ended up in a car accident…I shouldn’t have said that.” She covered her mouth with her hands and apologized.

“I had one about George. I hope this one won’t come true.” Her eyes started to water again.

“Nah, nightmares don’t come true that easily. It’s like this…You dream of you in a car crash, and we all know that’s actually your ‘daily work-out’ and so we know you won’t die in it. With your brother he won’t die helping, unless he borrows money again?” Kristen tried to cheer her up.

“Okay? You know you’re making me wonder why we are friends.” Elise gave a laugh.

“Because without you I would’ve ended up in jail.” Kristen yawned.

“Yeah, and ever since we were friends I ended up in jail.”

“Such a good friend.”

“Yeah-yeah, no go back to sleep. Or go do something else, I want to sleep.” Elise layed down and closed her eyes.
