Lassiter's Perspective
Shawn gets to the office later, and immediately bounds into Lassiter's office. He pulls out a stack of white envelopes and shakes them I front of his fiancé's face. Carlton, being distracted from his work groans at Shawn.
"Shawn, not now." He says, continuing to type.
Shawn hops onto Lassie's lap. "But it's important." He whines.
Hoping to be left in peace, Lassie pushes Shawn off his lap. "Fine. Why don't you order a cake or something."
"But what 'bout these?!" Shawn waves the cards in the air.
"Wait until tomorrow." Lassie sighs tiredly.
Shawn frowns. "Why tomorrow? Everyone's in the office."
"Because tomorrow is my day off." He sees Shawn's expression, so to cheer him up he says that tomorrow he and Shawn can "get the final arrangements together".
"Okay, Sassy Lassie." Shawn walks out of the office, leaving Lassiter to finally work in peace.
Carlton sighs deeply, finally being able to finish the report he had been working on. Of course he loved Shawn but he didn't need Shawn clinging on to him. He knew he shouldn't, but Carlton was embarrassed to be the head detective and, well, gay. At their apartment was where they could act like a real couple. But Lassiter had a job to do, and Shawn had to find a real job.
Shawn wasn't a real detective/cop, seeing how he never went to college for it, but he did get payed a bit and just got a small office which he never used.
It helped a lot with Shawn tagging along with cases, but there weren't as many recently and all there was was paper work to do, so Shawn stayed home or planned the wedding.
A few minutes later, Carlton hears someone come in to his office and he looks up to see Chief in the doorway.
"Lassiter, do you have a minute?" She asks. Lassie nods and stands up.
"Sure. Is there a new case?" He asks.
"No. However I just wanted to ask about your relationship to mr. Spencer?" Lassiter turns pink.
"Er, um, what about him?"
"I've just noticed that you two have seemed closer then usual and you both have engagement rings. When is the wedding?" She asks, smiling.
"Um, next week." Lassiter plays with his suit.
"Oh, good. I hope to see an invitation sent to me." She starts to walk out but stops. "Oh, and Lassiter?"
"Yes Chief?"
"If you need anytime off for, well, planning and stuff, just ask. You know how Santa Barbara has been pretty quite lately."
"I will keep your offer in mind, but I'm quite devoted to my job so I will try to work as much as possible this month." Lassie states, but still grateful that Chief was accepting and understood how much work the week would be with the upcoming wedding. He watches as Chief walks away and he sits down again. Peace was finally there and he welcomed the quietness in the office as he tapped away on the computer.
