Chapter 5

Sweet Dawn

I got in from the party around one a.m. I quietly opened the door and crept inside. The party was awesome, I got to see all my old friends. I didn't realize how much people could change over 5 years. Justin and I were like the life of the party. Girl's didn't used talk to me, but now they wouldn't leave me alone. I had so many phone numbers I couldn't even keep track of them all. I only had two girlfriends so far in the eighteen years I've been on this earth. The first was this girl named Pricilla Anderson, she was really pretty, but I think she went out with me out of pity. I dated this other girl in California named Carly Simpson, she was quite pretty as well.

"My curfew is twelve, mom's gonna kill me." I thought. When I went up the stairs, all the lights were turned off. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. I was so thankful that no one was awake. I snuck up to my room, I was almost at my door when I heard a voice from the balcony across from my room. It was a girl's voice; it sounded like she was singing.

"I dreamt of you on cloudless nights

I saw your face glowing in the moonlight

I wished for you upon a star

In hopes you'll come from near or far.

You're the one,

My shining star

The one that gives me hope

I'll always have you in my heart

We'll never be apart

My song's for you,

My words are true,

I hope you can hear my heart"

Her voice was so beautiful, I stood outside my door for an extra ten minutes just to listen. I decided to go see who was singing so sweetly. I peaked into the room and saw Angelina sitting on the couch singing her heart out. She looked as dazzling as ever. Her curly hair was in a messy bun, and she was wearing green pajama's with frogs on them. Her make-up free, face looked so pretty. Her big brown eyes shone in the moonlight. I stood there, in the door way; hypnotized. Angelina stopped playing and noticed me standing there; I tried to hide behind a scenery tree.

"I can see you," she called.

I shuffled from behind the tree. "Aren't you suppose to be in bed young lady?" I joked.

She smiled at me and put down her guitar, "Aren't you suppose to be home at a decent hour?" she countered.

I smirked back at her, "Too shay, Pink"

"D-did you write that song yourself?" I asked.

"Oh no! My stuttering already started, that was so un-cool," I thought.

"Yea, I did actually. Its for my band." she replied.

My face lit up "Finally, a topic I could relate too! 'music'" I thought.

"Ummm… Where's Jaz?" I asked.

"She went to bed at twelve."

In the mist of all my nervousness I had forgot how hungry I was. There was only finger food at the party. I scratched my head, "Oh…ummm…Would you like to continue this conversation down stairs?" I asked.

"Umm…sure I guess."

I went down the stairs to the kitchen; she followed close behind. I opened the fridge and pulled out a beer and some chips. Angelina was sitting at the table, looking around, and kicking her feet.
