Chapter 16

"I didn't know you would come with me and hang out today." Liam says as we sit down on the bench.

We decided to come to the park and do a small picnic.

"Why wouldn't I come?" I laugh a bit as i look and admire the park.

"Because I know you and Harry have like a thing." He shrugs.

I shrug and look down, last nights memories coming into mind.

"Whats wrong?" He says as his index finger rises my face and makes me look at him.

"Nothing why?" "I fake smile as if that will convince him.

His features harden a bit as his eyes examine my face.

"You're lying to me. Whats wrong and don't try to lie to me. It won't work."

"It's nothing..." I sigh.

"Does it have anything to do with Harry?" He asks as he moves his hand from my face.

"Maybe.."

"What did he do now?"

"It's something I did actually..." I look back down.

"What do you mean? But you guys aren't even together so why does he care?" He scoffs.

I look up and see him frowning. What's with all these guys and their over reactions.

"Just cause we aren't together it doesn't means we don't have feelings for each other." I frown back.

"Are you serious? He doesn't have feelings for anyone! He doesn't even love himself. How is he going to love someone if he doesn't even love himself? He's a cold hearted guy. But if he loves you please explain to me how because I don't know." He scoffs again.

I don't say anything but just look at the ground.

"Maddie...listen I'm sorry but someone had to tell you how he really is." He makes me look at him

"I can change him." I mutter.

"He's always been like this Maddie. There's no changing him. Stop trying to do what you can't. I don't want to see you get hurt."

"You basically just hurt me with what you just said." I frown and get up.

"Where are you going?" He quickly stands up.

"Home. You pissed me off so I better go before I punch your pretty face in." I look at him as his eyes go wide.

"Madd-"

"No Liam. Don't say anything right now that will cause this to get even worse. Okay?" I start to walk off.

I hear him groan and his steps quicken. Good thing he hadn't unpacked the food because I would've thrown whatever he brought at his face.

"Maddie please. Okay yes I'm being a jerk but what does he have that makes you love him so much that I don't have? I seriously want to know." He grabs a hold of my arm and makes me look at him.

"He has looks yes but what does that do?" He continues

"Nothing. He's the biggest jerk and he's proven you that. He went to the movies with some girl just to get you mad and you know that. He plays with your fucking feelings just because he knows he can. He knows he has you in the palm of his hand and he will have you crawling back to him whenever he wants you to. Open your eyes and understand that nothing and i mean nothing will change Harry." He looks at me as if waiting for me to jump into his arms or something.

"Well?" He asks

"Well what? You made your point. I get it loud and clear." I start to walk away again until he grabs my wrist. Twirls me around to look at him.

"Please give me the chance that he doesn't deserve to get." He pleads.

I look into his pleading eyes and see the honesty in them.

"Please...Let me prove to you that I will treat you better than he would ever treat you."

I look down and lifts my chin up with his finger.

"Please?..." He says once more.

I slowly nod.

"Okay.."
