~J-Dog's P.O.V~

I lay in my bunk on my back with my hands laced in each other on my stomach. I just lay in the darkness of my bunk and the quietness of the bus. Everyone except the bus driver is asleep.

You can hear the occasional sounds of cars honking at one another and the odd siren off in the distance as police cars race to catch criminals, ambulances race to the scene of a terrible accident, and fire trucks race to save people from burning buildings.

I close my eyes and relax, feeling the motion of the bus as we head down the road to get to our next stop on the tour. I think how everyone is the world has a role to play;

Firemen suit up in their heavy fireproof clothing as they hear the alarm go off and the place and situation being called over the PA.

The police officers get in their cruisers and speed off to the terrible scene. They help the fire fighters pull people out of whatever situation they are in and onto the stretchers of the paramedics.

The paramedics race the victims of the unfortunate event into the emergency department of a hospital.

The doctors rush to help the paramedics fight to keep the victims alive and calm.

The sectary at the hospital calls family members to tell them the tragic news of their loved ones being in the hospital.

The families go to the hospital just praying that their parent, child and friend will be okay.

As that happens a construction worker is rushed to a different hospital for an injury he got on the job.

A businessman gets a call saying his father had a stroke and is in the hospital. In a hurry he jumps in a car on his way to the hospital. Due to his reckless driving he gets into a wreck with another person who was jamming out to their favourite band. That band gets off stage and celebrates another amazing show.

Everyone wakes up in the morning with no idea about what's going to happen in that day. Weather they'll have the worst day of their life, the best day, or just another ordinary day, they have no clue.

They then come home at the end of the day to celebrate their amazing day with loved ones or they go home and just try to forget the horrors of their day. Yet, not knowing what's to come everyone still gets up and does what they do. That's just how the world works.

And yet, here I lay; in my bunk, waiting in excitement that I get when I think of my girlfriend, the love of my life, coming out to see me, and the day after that I make the most important decision of my life so far; do I ask her, or do I not?

I toss the around the tiny box that contains the diamond ring around in my hands. I think about being scared of rejection. I know one thing's for sure I love my girlfriend, and I want to spend the rest of my life with her.

I put the tiny box in a secure spot and close my eyes and I start to slowly drift off.

"I'm sorry Jorel, I just can't." Vanessa says to me, using my real name. Those words cut through me like a knife. My heart shaders into a million pieces as it is ripped from my chest. My eyes start to cloud over with tears and I'm filled with this awful feeling. What did I do wrong? I thought I had her.

I wake up to someone shaking me and quietly calling my name. I feel that my face is wet with a mix of tears and sweat. My drenched clothes stick to me because they are soaking wet with sweat. My breathing is rapid, as I try to make sense of what just happened.

"Are you okay?" I hear from one of my band members mouths. I turn my head to see the singer Danny standing outside my bunk with a deeply concerned look on his face.
