Chapter One
"Hero."Beep. Beep. Bee-
I slammed my fist on the annoying contraption that's called an alarm clock. I slowly peaked at it with one eye to see the neon green numbers flash in front of my eyes. Five Thirty. I slowly closed my eyes again and almost drifted back to sleep, almost.
Five thirty.
My eyes snapped open as I hopped off my bed and checked my daily schedule that is placed on my pearl white study table.
Bath time- 5:20 to 5:50
I still have twenty minutes. I quickly ran in my pearl white bath room and grabbed a towel while rushing inside the shower and quickly did my business.
As I walk out of my bathroom feeling fresh and clean. I quickly dried my hair with a little towel. I roam my room for a second and slowly walked to my closet and grabbed my school uniform that was tagged with a 'Monday' on it. I grabbed fresh new undergarments and quickly slipped it on along with my black stockings. I glanced at myself in the mirror for a second then quickly fixed my self up, I grabbed a brush from my vanity and quickly fixed my hair, while putting on a little bit of eyeliner, mascara and lipbalm. Once I'm done I gathered all my books and finally dicended down stairs. As I reached the kitchen I grabbed a pen and a sticky not by the fridge and wrote down a little note to my mum and dad saying I left early for school and I love them. Once I'm done I placed the note on the fridge, beside my young six year old self's drawing. I stared at the family in the drawing making my chest feel tight. I quickly looked away and grabbed an apple as I walked out of the kitchen and soon out of the house. The woods always looks beautiful in the morning, especially during spring. A gush feeling rushed inside of me helping me breathe, my mother always loved the fresh and cool breeze in the morning, exactly why she wanted to settle down here in the first place. I walked dawn the long stoned path that leads to the main road of our small town.
As I walked my way to school I looked down on my wrist watch to check the time, six fifty-nine, I drew out a sight of satisfaction. I thought I was out of schedule. I stared at an alley up ahead, that wasn't there before. I looked at my feet as I walk and immediately I sensed something odd, something chill rising as if someone was watching at me. I quickly brushed away the thought, finding it stupid. I chuckled to myself realising how paranoid I must have seem I quickly shook my head as if it would shake away the thought with it. How peculiar, I didn't feel anyone staring at me anymore but instead I felt like somebody was following me. My heart picked up it's pace and so did my mind. I slowly slid my hand under my skirt and slowly pulled out my Ekol Arda, 4mm Caliber and swung to face the intruder. Nothing, no one, just silence. A sigh of relief left my lips, I turned to continue my journey, and there he was a masked stranger. I was tugged into the weird alley I saw earlier, since it's still around 6:50 in the morning, no one was there to save me. With brutal force, fear made it's way into my veins and I'm pretty sure it can be seen on face with eyes tightly shut.
"Well, well, well." A dark voice spoke. "It has been awhile, Tytis." I snapped my eyes open for it to connect with cold grey ones. A small gasp escape my lips as my blood run cold.
"Shawn." I quietly said.
"Little princess, It has been a long time." He said with a tone so bitter you could taste it. "How is mama and papa? Oh wait their-"
"Stop!" I quickly cut him of, "Shut up! Shut up!" I screamed as my chest tightens. Why? Why is he here? I thought he was gone?
"Don't tell me to shut up, little bitch." In a flash I felt a sting on my left cheeck. He was about to slap me again when a voice stop him.
"Touch her again and you will regret it." I heard a strong voice said, but I didn't bother to take a glance at the person, not taking chances on turning my back on my opponent. Never turn your back on an opponent. My father's words echoed in my head.
"Or else what?" Shawn dead panned.
"Or ealse this," in one quick motion I see Shawn's unconscious body laying in front of me. For a second I stopped breathing. If he was able to knock Shawn out cold what are the possibilities that will happen to me?
"Are you alright?" The person voice sounds different, because of how soft it sounds, as if he's talking to a toddler but I didn't bother to look at the stranger.
"Hey, it's okay now, you don't have to ignore me." I slowly peaked at him but I can't clearly see him because of the early morning sky and the my watery eyes that's making my vision blurry.
"Hi, I am I-"
"You shouldn't have done that." My voice sounding surprisingly firm.
"What? I just helped you!" He said sounding offended.
"Well, I didn't ask for it." I know I'm treating my hero badly, but now he's in danger because of stepping in. He was about to speak when I cut him off again.
"I don't want to see your face and hear your voice again. If you want to be heroic, do it somewhere else." My voice sound scratchy from crying as my eyes set on the cement floor.
It went quite for a moment until I noticed that my saviour is no longer there.
I took a deep breath as I looked up the beautiful sky. I quickly got up before my attacker gain back his consciousness and kill me.
I ran the rest of my way to school. Once I stepped in, I see nothing but empty hallways. As always, I mean no one but me that comes in early and I am thankful for that, since no one has to witness me looking like a wet rat with dark mascara smudged on my face. I quickly entered the girls toilet and fixed my self up, as I looked into my blue eyes in the mirror, my thoughts drifted back to my hero.
I must say, that was really mean of me. I shouldn't have said the unnecessary part of my rant. I should have said my thanks instead. A sigh escaped from my lips. What's done is done. I couldn't turn back time.
Another disappointed sigh left my lips as I took out a pack of wet wipes from my bag and used one. I softly wiped the black traces of mascara on my cheeks as I held eye contact with myself through the mirror.
My once bright and warm eyes, now cold and shallow.
"How's Mama and Papa? Oh, wait their-"
I shut my eyes as I took deep breaths. I won't let him get to me. It's kinda too late for that, don't you think? My inner voice said. I simply brushed her off as I quickly disposed of my used wipe.
I looked up to check my reflection again.
Sadness.
That's what my eyes show.
