"I can't see!" Rodger complains. I roll my eyes and bang the torch against my knee in an attempt to get it back on. "That's what happens when the lights go out." Wally explains to Rodger like he's talking to a five-year-old. At that I smirk.
Finally I get a light back on, then face everyone. "Right. We need to find another way out of here. We're going to have to split up." Everyone gives me a look like this is the worst idea ever. "Wally, you can go with Scarlet." No way was I sending her with Rodger "Jason, you can come with me. And Rod-"

"Whoa. Hold it right there, circus boy." Rodger interrupts. "Who made YOU leader?" I cross my arms and glare at him. "Fine. Rodger, you lead." Rodger raises an eyebrow and looks me up and down, probably thinking it weird that I just handed him leadership. Odd that the guy can think at all, though.

"Wait, Rodger can't lead." Jason protests. Rodger walks up to him and glares. "Why not, shrimp?! You got a problem with me as leader?!" He booms, Jason shrinks back.
"That's what I thought. Now. We should split up. Scarlet will go with me-" Now it's my turn to interrupt. "Scarlet is NOT going with you. She can go with whom she chooses to go with."

"I'm the leader, circus freak. And I say she comes with me!"

"Can I say something?" Wally cuts in.

"No!" Rodger yells, pushing him over. "Hey!" Scarlet shouts helping Wally up. "You jerk. You're a horrible leader. I think Dick should lead." Rodger looks as though Scarlet just punched him. "Fine. Let that loser lead. But I'm not listening to ANYTHING he says. I can lead myself." I shrug.

"So Scarlet, who are you going with?" She moves beside Wally. "Okay. Jason, you'll come with me. Rodger, you can stay here while you figure out what you want to do." I smirk at his terrified expression. Rodger is afraid. Ha!

Wally and Scarlet decided to search the main floor, while Jason, Rodger (he said he 'wanted to come. Not that he was afraid or anything'.) and I search upstairs. We bid farewell to Wally and Scarlet, I let them know we'll keep in touch via our communicators, and head down the hall toward the lobby.

The lobby is a large, wood floored room, with few cushioned chairs, a coffee table, a small TV, a large window overlooking the backyard, a front desk for check-ins, and a door at the back wth a sign above it that reads 'kitchen'.
With a quick look around to check that the place is clear, I walk up to the front desk. All that's there is a black book. I move to open it, but a noise behind me makes me turn quickly. Rodger stands a few feet away, a look of confusion on his face, and Jason is gone.

I grab the book and stuff it in my backpack quickly, then march up to Rodger.

"Where's Jason?" I ask calmly. Rodger gapes at me blankly like he has no idea what I'm saying. I repeat the question, this time a little less calm, and Rodger still gapes at me. Now annoyed I hit his arm gently. "What?!" He snaps out of his trance and shakes his head.
"I asked you where Jason is."
"How am I supposed to know where that little freak went?!"
"Because you were right here beside him! And he's NOT a freak!" Annoyed, scared, and confused, I do my best to keep whelmed. But Rodger is not helping at all. "Look, Rodger." I begin calmly "It's not a question from English class. You should be able to answer it. Where is Jason?"
Rodger growls. "If I knew, I'd tell ya! But I don't."

We glare at each other for a few seconds more until I look away.
He doesn't know.
"Alright. Let's go look for him, then." I start to walk away, but Rodger grabs my arm. "I ain't helping you find that runt." I pull away and cross my arms. "Why? Too scared? Because you could stay here by yourself. Without a torch." At that Rodger's eyes get big. I grin at him in amusent. Rodger, the guy whom spends all his time scaring others, is afraid.
