Well today is my last day of school. "You're parents are jerks,Griffin" said my best friend Andy. "I know! Even my folks wouldn't do that!" shouted my friend,Elizabeth. "I have to do it though. Wow. I can't believe it. Tomorrow I'm off to some stupid camp!" I replied.
After that morning conversation my friends and I spent the day as if nothing had happened. But of course, the next day was summer camp. Wow. I still can't believe my parents would do this! And it's all grandma's fault!
I arrive home and my mother says"start packing Griffin. Big day tomorrow!" Ugh. I can't believe this. Now my folks don't want me here. Or at least my mother doesn't want me here. "Hey mom,can I hang out with some friends when I finish packing?" My mother lets out a sigh. "Alright. But stay out of trouble," my mother warns. I think for once I'll do what she tells me.
I meet up with some friends and for once,we stay out of trouble. We went to McDonald's and had a nice leisurely meal. "I'm gonna miss you,Griffin,"said Elizabeth. "I know. I'll miss you too,Liz," I respond. "See you in August,"said Andy. "See you then, bud."
The only thing worse than spending half my summer break at some stupid camp is that my birthday will be celebrated there. My 15th birthday. Without my friends! If only I could change my mother's mind about the camp...Well that didn't work. "It'll be fun to make new friends to celebrate your birthday with," she said. Boy,I hope she's right...
